Free Link List Script????
Hi folks!
After almost one year of extreme reallife studying and outtime of the adult business I'm back again... |headbang| I'm trying to get organized the next days(weeks?!) to start submitting freesites again and build my own link list... http://www.the-kraut.com/ |cool| Anyone knows about a free link list script for me to start with? After some research I found http://www.tomsnewbiebooster.com/res...st/script.html http://www.kre8webdesign.com/linx/ but these scripts are outdated... :( Maybe someone can help me out little bit... |
I always get this answer when ask free scripts. "You get what you paid for"
Honestly, I don't know any good free LL scripts out there. But at the start, you can do all by hand if you have time for it. It's damn pain in the ass but worth of it if done right. And later you can buy a script to do most of your job. I've been using AutoGallery SQL successfully. It's made for TGP but work with LL as well when change a things a bit. It's not free but it's cheap. For my experience about Link Lists I would say that it's damn hard job! I would never think how much time/cash it will take before I launched my first one. Building freesites is much easier at start and when done it for a year or two you have a great base of sites ready for link list. Just some thoughts thru beer. :) |

I've stumbled on this one pretty recently - http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/ It has a lot of nice features. I think it even has a built in tools, such as a recip link checker and broken link bot type thing. It's source code is more difficult for the layman, in my opinion, but if you aren't one to screw with things you won't care about that. I dick with things. There's a free version of of WSN Links here - http://wsnlinks.giannaros.org/basic/ which is a dumbed-down version of it's namesake. I don't have any experience with that one. There's nothing wrong with starting off with a free script. I've worked with free scripts so long, the paid versions don't even impress me anymore. |

the Linx Lite is a nice little script for the price
also Ska Links looks like it might be a nice free script but I haven't tried it yet I'm with UW I use free scripts all the time... unless I can talk a sponsor into buying an expensive one like Link Admin for me :D |

@wolfie
Yes, I know that it's really tough to start a link list these days and get the right SE rankings to make some money... Top priority for me is submitting freesites and beside that I'll build up my linklist... @all thanks for your links especially useless! ;) I'm not so much into php, but I want to learn some stuff in the near future... I think I'll give 'em all a try and check which is more comfortable... :) |

the main problem with pay script is that you cant modify it...
they are all zend packed :( and some of them have the bugs you cant fix yourself :) the best way it to get free and modify it or...hire programmer to write it for you..it easier than you think..you may add optional components after.. like linkchecker etc.. Start from free scrip and learn.. |
So is anyone using this LL script? http://www.kre8webdesign.com/linx/
|
I think you should ask google :)
I saw several sites on this script.. But I woudnt recommend it to anyone...unles of coz you want just technical link list for you free sites for ex... Found it ugly 1 year ago and still it is :) I dont think it ok for BIG projects with 300 submissions per day or more. |

I've abandoned my old script as I mentioned in another post because the owner has gone AWOL after an aborted product upgrade. [It was ugly, let me tell you.] I would say from that looking at the above two ... PhpLinkDirectory will be great someday but it is still pretty immature. Being "open source" is great because if the developer gets hit by a truck you can take the code and run with it. Having played with it, WSN appears quite good and from other posts I've read, I understand a fair number of people use the commercial version for adult link lists. At $60 for a three domain license, I am now hanging my hat on WSN Links. Cheers, ---art |
Take a look at Barracuda... php/mysql based free and under active development... it runs neighbourhood directories pretty well...

oh, and Open Source fucking rocks!!!!
|
Open source is a must if you want to have unique LLs... dont get lured by $20-200 what-so-ever-projects ..they will become common very soon.
|
hehe one thing about the phplinksdirectory site that I find kinda quirky is their insistence on keeping the link back to the site, but they themselves have dropped the link to the mambo cms that their website itself runs on...

they said free gossamer-threads script is good. But I was unable to find it there..only pay one..Does anybody know where it is?

Non-profit and individual users must register the program (which means letting them know where it is installed, it is still free). You must also keep the "Links Engine Powered By" line on the bottom of the all Links pages. |
thanks for the link!

We're actually starting on PHP Link Directory 3.0 now, and hope to finish around the end of the year. You can see some of the specs here: www.phpld.com Also, do you adult webmasters do anything with rss feeds? If yes, www.newstopica.com might work nice for you. |

You find one, then get to the next and remember you saw it somewhere on the forum....so you go looking again. Feature set is great...figuring out how to use them or where to set them up is a pain in the ass. |
There are tons of free linklist scripts but I didn't seen good ones ;)

dissapointed that v3 is no longer open source...

Php/Mysql is not too difficult to learn. Best script is one you make yourself, works exactly how you want and you know how it works, if you need to change or add-on. Sure worth the time. You could always get a bare bones script up and working and work on it a little here and there. Imporove it as you go.
I never saw one that did everything I wanted, so made my own. glad I did. I am currently working with a tgp script I bought and sucks, because you dont know anything about it. ronnie |
you get what you pay for, which is why I do not use free scripts
my new LL will use xpowerlinks $199 for the first copy and $50 for each after |

And there are lots of mods, etc. contributed by other users. For a measily $25 (or $75 if you remove the link) you can have version 3 of the script, which is now in it's 6th release. It has come a long way, and I hope you will check it out. :) |
