Will you be doing anything different in 2006

Seems like a good time to start a thread like this..

I will be adding some of my main or semi main sponsors on my promote last list...maybe? will really be watching..

Reasons - they don't convert much anymore, they promise content 6 months ago and always to busy to cut edit some more.. I buy a lot of my own but a lot of times its hard to find some of what your trying to match on there sites..

Some sponsors started a reward points system and have no plans of ever getting a way to redeem them...

Trade shows and big booths are always more important than taking care of the webmasters sending sales it seems..

I am not bashing sponsors but that is just the way I feel..

On to the webmaster side of things - I'll be looking for more time saving tools, getting more tgp partner accounts(buying some)

Building as much as I can take without getting burned out..

Building more little mini hubs or little seo project hubs..

Learning more html and css..

putting up a few fake tgp style hubs..

and most important making the time I spend on the PC dedicated to productive work and less unproductive time..

Trying more niches and trying more sponsors and spreding out more..

And this is not a spam thread to have a program jump in a say "try us in 2006" so fuck off ahead of time:D

I hope to make a few bucks in 2006 and that would be different

Bill 2005-12-29 01:52 AM

The "and most important making the time I spend on the PC dedicated to productive work and less unproductive time.." thing sounds good - pretty much my main goal for the upcoming year. Less time reading the boards for pleasure, more time writing text content. (the most painful part of this business... writing effective text)

I expect a hard year, and a lot more going out of business on all levels. So, minimizing risks, conserving capital, and being miserly with my cash flow will be important this year.

I plan on spending the maximum I can contribute on politics, this being a important election year.

I'd like to diversify my advertising space, using more sponsors and getting smaller checks from each sponsor, and playing sponsors against each othe rmore. This is somewhat expensive to put into place, tho, as it means testing more sponsors, and some-to-many of those sponsors turning out to be crap.

Fonz 2005-12-29 04:32 AM

Some of the things I'd like to accomplish in 2006 are the same as the ones I had for 2005 but for some reason never got accomplished :)

Just like Bill I'd like to make the time I spend on my PC dedicated to productive work and less unproductive time.

Getting more traffic by building more stuff like freesites, niche-based landing pages and get as much SE traffic to them as I can, stuff like that...

Oh yeah, I want to go to Internext Vegas 2007 (if it still exists by then) and meet all you guys (again :) ) so those extra $$$ I'm gonna make will come in handy :)

Surfn 2005-12-29 05:27 AM

I thought this would be the year I finally got to cut back on my activities. Unfortunately this just isn't so. I'll be adding a bigger staff |loony|

jds 2005-12-29 06:29 AM

I guess for the first few days I'm ganno make the same mistakes than each year, wiriting the wrong year on the checks, and then that'd be different, but apart from that ...

Jim 2005-12-29 08:02 AM

I have a big list of resolutions. If I can just keep one, I will be happy :)

Useless 2005-12-29 09:27 AM

In 2006, I think my motto will be, "shit or get off the pot".

I've been wasting, yes wasting, a ton of time online without much real gain. I'm hope to trim that back even more than I have in the past couple of months. I'll expend my engergies on tightening the nuts on my lists and building content pages for them rather than screwing around with all the other shit that pops into my head. (I get a lot of project ideas. Unfortunately, I'm no Greenguy. My ideas suck.) Note to self: ignore the voices.

I would love to be able to spend less time on the board, no offense intended. I have days where I'm able to say good morning and walk away for the day. But I typically find myself drawn to this crazy fucking place throughout the day. It's some sort of sick addiction, I think. I take great pleasure in making an ass of myself, I guess.:D

In '06, I will attempt to remain me eventhough being me has done me very few favors thus far. I pride myself in my honesty, integrity and amazingly poor work ethic. ;) Those of you who know me, know that I'm a straight shooter about my level of success and my lack success. I understand why people want to project themselves as wealthy and well-connected, but don't expect that from me. I'm neither and won't pretend to be.

My other resolutions are:
Act in a major motion picture.
Swim the English Channel.
Swim with dolphins.
Swim with dolphins in the English Channel.
Run naked through D.C., screaming, "I've got peanut butter in my butt!"
Dance the Flamenco with a flamingo.
Rub lotion on its skin.
Bathe.
Figure out why I find Jessica Simpson so appealing, yet simutaneously so unappealing.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Greenguy 2005-12-29 09:37 AM

I'll be banning more people from the board :D

It sounds exciting but when you're actually doing it's just not as exciting as you may think.

docholly 2005-12-29 10:48 AM

I'm taking a class in photography and maybe one in photoshop which should improve my build-submit-forget theory.

Love some of the responses.. gave me a chuckle at 745am.

UW...you are indeed a funny man! That peanut butter in the butt thing has already been done...although not while running naked through the streets. Why do you think ol Georgie boy always has the stupid smirk?

As to me, I'm going to try to be more productive with my time online. UW is right (for a change)...this place can indeed be addictive. So, I'm going to restrict myself to 3 checks a day...morning...noon...and just before crashing for the night.

I've got a couple projects in the mix that should drive up revenues for '06...which will be a very good thing |thumb

cd34 2005-12-29 12:51 PM

I'm going to spend more time working hard, and less time working.

RawAlex 2005-12-29 04:23 PM

2005 was a year of transition for me, allowing one business model to die off and working hard on the "next one". Sadly in 2005 a combination of new 2257 rules (pending) and new customs declarations and inspections into the US forced me to take the route of dropping most of my video editing clients. However, that time is being refocused on other things, and I think it is all really moving forward as a result.

2006 should be a strong year. December is actually one of the best months for 2005, with some sponsors that have not done much for a while suddenly coming back into the game. Net dollars for the month isn't entirely set, but it looks like December will be either #1 or #2 for the year... a great followup to a solid performance in November. So taking that momentum forward, and with a positive feeling of being on the right track, well...

Thanks to everyone here. In 2005, the helpful comments, the suggestions, and the support from all of you has helped to make my business grow back up and for me to have a positive feeling about it. 2006 looks like a winner!

no not at all, she doesnt like the idea of me working from a outside office

its a real touchy subject around here
but I gotta do something sooner or later. I get nothing done here at the house

its a shame cause I got a really sweet home office
I mean like donald trump, lotto nice

and to go and pay rent for some 10 by 20 white box sort of sucks in a way

MadMax 2005-12-29 06:14 PM

There's a lot to be said for having employees right in front of you where you can really keep an eye on them.

In 2006 I'll:

--Finish my LL script and then get a bunch of projects off the ground that I tabled in favor of working on it.
--Really turn the screws on myself to get better with SEO
--Blacklist lots of submitters
--Probably hit 25k links at Fetish Philes

That's it. Everything else will start to flow :)

pvtspanky 2005-12-29 07:04 PM

I am going to attempt to live a healthier lifestyle.

I am going to make a bunch of money off all of your traffic;)

I am going to try to work on one small project on my house every month. This place is literally falling apart around me.

I will expiriment more with paid partner accounts.

I will start some Google Adwords campaigns.

Man... 2007 is going to be here before we know it...

furrygirl 2005-12-29 09:51 PM

Well, as a paysite/store owner, my goals a bit different. This is a long one:

Furry Girl
I'd like to learn about making mobile and ipod content for my members. Finish up converting three years of videos into two (file) sizes of MPEGs, since lordy knows everyone hates Quicktime. I want to be better at keeping a fat backlog of content for updating, since I hate thinking, "Shit, I need to update tomorrow! What's a cute idea for something to shoot?" Make my own DVD, and *finally* shoot a cute masturbation scene for Homegrown.

Veg Porn
Re-do the site and make it prettier. Look at licensing a cool short film someone else made to add to the members area. Work on adding more to the recipes section, and hopefully get enough submissions to update the site more frequently. Find *one* group to be the recipient of donations from the site, since it's a pain in the ass to find veggie groups that are "willing" to accept money from a dirty evil oppressive porn site.

the Veg Sex Shop
Create a new design after finishing up Veg Porn. Add more products. Hassle more condom companies into talking to me about their manufacturing process. Find good online ad spots, and try a few new print mags to try. Try and find more cool events to donate to.

Erotic Red
Convince some merchant bank and aggregator to accept the site so I can switch all my sites over to one solid biller who isn't afraid of bleedy cooters. Court an obscenity prosecution. Draw attention to bullshit American laws that tell consenting adults when they're allowed to fuck and what they're allowed to look at in the privacy of their homes. Find more models. Print cute menstruation shirts. Get a tubal so I can stop taking hormone pills and have real periods to showcase on my period site.

Oh, and experiment with making some of those "free sites" I keep hearing about. |huh

Best wishes to everyone on having a great 2006!

gobgook2 2005-12-29 11:31 PM

Oh, i'll probably build and submit another 2,190 galleries to a multitude of TGPs... add hundreds of site reviews, and hope to find another one of "those" sponsors to supplement the mere ONE that actually converts for me... LOL Hmm... not much change in my plan ;)

Ditto his ditto. Just takes time, precious time I seem to lack.

I'll also be hoping for more traffic.

Resolutions:
Get my ass moving on the traffic trades.
Look into automating the hubs/fake tgp's.
Be quicker on the ban button.
Buy some content and submit free-sites again.
Take less Xanax.
Find more powerful narcotics to take.
Get back to Vega$.

no offence but
I think that way of thinking is a huge mistake
taking submitters for granted is the start of a LL's slow death

submiters are a very valuable resource

ya know there are a lot of good submitters on this board
A smart enterprising LL or TGP owner would

set up a private submit area
and then hand pick your submitters

read the board and wait for those: I cant get listed threads or what do you think of this site. and then contact them privately through the board or email

after a short while you would have 200 or so hand picked submitters

your links would be first class, no cheaters and very little wasted time

also you would have developed a small relationship with every submitter, which down the road can be very valuable

stuveltje 2005-12-30 04:50 PM

mmmm i gonna work less and i am realy gonna do that, i am in 2 new partnerships for next year ......oh godd where will i end now.:D
i wanna focus mor eon offline things, just the things i did before, i dont wanna build hubs and free sites and all, just sometimes a gallerie and a linksite when i want to and some other things but thats it, i miss the real contact with people, i like this bizz, but i am dutch, my most contact is with usa people and most of the time when i am on they are in bed, i need more real people around me, i nag about this already from the start, so yeah the real face to face people, i like those discussions about work with face to face people, i started this year an lingerie store with my mom, 10 years ago i did lingerie private parties, (hey i wasnt modeling, i just show the shit) i wanted to start something with my mom to keep her busy, so lingerie it was, it all is going great , i wanna open more stores, and i wanna go in other things like i did before, stocks, building houses, selling houses and every other shit which is around, just give me the real face to face contact................being behind my puter for 18 hours a day...no more

None taken. Actually, I'm pretty happy you would even bother to comment to me. :)

But what I was referring to in that resolution was the fact that I have a problem banning anybody See this post. I'm too nice and don't protect myself enough. It was also said somewhat tongue in cheek.

well dont be to happy, There's A lot of people who would be happier if I didn't talk to them at all|jester|

if you went to private, you probably never have to ban anyone
anyway its a bit pointless now cause you were talking about something else

since I went to paid accounts over a year ago, I would bet I haven't even thrown out 5 webmasters

ponygirl 2005-12-30 09:10 PM

2006 already...wow :D

I think I'd like to concentrate on traffic - getting more & filtering it better.

I've just recently discovered how addictive domains are...I want to make enough $$ to support this growing habit :D

I'm going to keep making freesites - they're fun & I've gotten to the point where it doesn't take 2 whole days to do one :) but I think I like doing the 'one page wonders' & niche hubs even better.

I want to grow my LL - excellent ideas, Tommy btw - I think I will be implementing some of those |thumb

other than that, I'd like to keep my ass from growing any bigger than it already is, spending so much time in front of the computer looking at porn, well - it's not good for the butt :D

Developing relationships is on the list too, I guess we called that networking in business school - now that I feel a little more comfortable & established that will be a big one next year.

above all - keep plugging away & get me a bigger piece of that porn pie. Hubby just saw a show on tv that says there are 40 MILLION porn surfers a month out there! I want some of those ;)

Pretty interesting responses.

My goals for 2006 are:
~Go full time webastering.
~Build up a few blogs and other sites and plug them full of content.
~Get a LL going and take on submitters.
~Learn from the pros on how to run a LL the right way.
~Make a few mistakes and learn from them.

My most immediate goal is to make one sale per day. Then increase that. =D

I'm gonna drop my daytime job and start freelancing

alessandro 2005-12-31 10:15 AM

I'm going to enter the link list game in 2006. Have been reserching this "job" hardly in 2005 and I think I can make a link list grow big enough in 2006 to be able to live off it. I have some older domains with some SE traffic already and that traffic should help me a bit getting honest submitters around my future link lists. Best wishes to all cool guys on this board :)

Papa 2005-12-31 11:10 AM

1) Put my trade script online for others
2) Go mainstream
3) Work more (or better)
4) Make more cash

It's all i'll do. This should take all of time |banghead|

spookyx 2005-12-31 12:29 PM

well besides resisting the urge to call dangerdave at 3 am to see what he is doing, here goes.

1. Build and submit a quality freesite everyday
2. Build more hubs and seo pages
3. Win the lotto

Sumrpal 2006-01-01 09:49 AM

Learn XHTML and CSS
Improve Photoshop skills (which won't take much |jester| )
Develop mini-SEO's, hubs, one-page wonders, instead of free-content sites

And most important of all, move to Vancouver Island in the spring. |thumb I can hardly wait.

I spent the last half of 2005 trying to start up a real world shop and not as much online as I should have. So I am going to balance them out and get a little more done online again.

Kenny B! 2006-01-02 12:49 PM

On a personal note I'll have to hit the gym more regularly and change my diet a bit to include those vegetables I've been hearing about.

On the business side of things I hope to get my business plan for an offline venture I've been working on finished and see how viable it might actually be. For my online projects I’m looking forward to the release of a new off the wall site we’ve been working on and to continue growing our affiliate program.

I have a few other resolutions to try and keep, time will tell!

Kenny B! 2006-01-02 01:07 PM

Oh and getting more active on certain boards:-)
