What the hell is up with Mastercard
 

All of my Mastercards have getting declined lately. Even when opening an account at Bank of America, they said for the initial deposit, they don't accept MC but a Visa would be fine.

Yesterday, I went to our Buddy Christ Supplier and placed the order. The guy called me since we have ordered a few and said, the MC was declined. So, I pulled out my trusty "one" Visa card and it went through without a problem.

I have been seeing it on a lot of other sites that I usually have no problem with now declining MC charges.

I just use my Visa debit card for everything so I have no idea.

As you know, I have nothing but Master Card's (only Visa I have is ePassporte) and I haven't had any problems - orders a bunch of shit online over the last few weeks & everything seems fine.

I'm with Greenguy. I have 3 Mastercards and the only Visa I have is epassporte. The wife has a Visa though.

The only problems I have had are mostly due to being Canadian and some companies not inputting the postal code or address correct so the address shows as wrong with my cc company and they decline it.

Hmmm...I thought it was our bank. So, I tried a regular Mastercard CC and still declined.

I have 6 Mastercards and 1 Visa but I am calling everyone that takes care of the mastercards to see if I can switch today.

But, when Bank of America won't take a Mastercard, there is some problem going on.

This has only happened in the past few days, by the way.

I have one of each and have had zero problems with my MC.

That just means they only deal with Visa, much like Citibank is all Master Card.

You need to watch more live TV so you can catch all those "They Only Accept Visa" commercials :D

No, MC works some places and doesn't work others. And, the trouble is not just with that one mc. I tried using several at a few places.

As a matter of fact, I went into my Sparky Hosting account and noticed that the MC was declined 11 times. I changed to another MC and tried to pay instantly...declined. So, I sent him a check.

And let me mention...it was not 11 months behind, they just attemped to charge it 11 times :)

I would call the people that provide you your MC's and make sure everythig is ok with your cards. you never know, some idiot in Krack-of-my-ass-stan my have stolen your identity. |shocking|

yeah I agree thats strange.. (off subject) I know that my bank visa will decline anything adult, online I know for sure as I know someone who works at the bank I bank at and have my CC card there and thats what they told me.. infact twice now over the cource of 6 or more months ago my bank called me to ask if my hosting that I pay with my CC was a legit transaction...

Having zero issues with my MC. Used it to buy some traffic and some domains recently.

Only visa I have is epassporte.

i just used my very empty one to buy some work clothes.. and MC went thru immediately.. dammmit.. now i have ONE more bill.

1 amex, 1 visa, 1 mc and 1 discovery. visa is tied to my bank account so its the one i try to use the most. Can't be out having my kid dumpster diving while my credit rating is golden.

I almost feel like deleting this thread. I once again tried to make a small purchase using a MC...declined. So, I pulled out a Visa and guess what...declined.

So, I live on West Main Street. Just for the hell of it, I tried using W Main Street instead and guess what happened? Approved :)

I checked my autofill on my google tool bar and it has been using West Main Street since I moved here. So, they must just be clamping down a little bit.

i used master and visa and gold card all never had problems , well i did with the mastercard, but i end all cards and only use epassporte card now..

They are clamping down. Shit like that happens to me all the time as I already said.

I have had the occasional problem with my MC but I have also had problems with my Visa.

at 1% transaction chargeback rate for mastercard I would be happy if no one used them :)

I figured I would update you guys on this. I found out yesterday that my bank put a "warm" on my mastercard December 6th for unusual spending at Amazon. I went to a bank branch a month ago and they told me there was nothing wrong with the card.

So, after accidentally giving my wife the card for gas in her bike, she came back and said it was declined. Yesterday I received a bill from FedEx. I usually just put the cc number on the shipping label. And still, I thought the swipe strip was bad and FedEx could not read my writing. I then tried to send Sue-fl a Buddy Christ and she never received it. Finally, I called the bank and was told about the unusual spending they saw. I spend just as much at Amazon that very same time every year...just before Christmas :)

Anyway, my bank said they would reinstate it but when I tested it this morning at my bank's ATM, it said unauthorized use. I had to actually sign a notarized statement saying that I had in fact used the card at Amazon. I just love my small town bank...fuckers. No call from them letting me know, no letter...nothing.

So, it seems Mastercard is fine and my bank sucks.
