I now drive a Renault Clio.. My little bitch wagon!

Used to have a Mercedes CLK 320 Convertible, but got rid of it due to splitting with my ex and neither could afford to buy the other out.. Seriously nice motor though :(

Nice! I used to be a big Mustang fan. I've had about 10 in my life. The most memorable one was my 88, I had thrown in a 351w with 430HP + 150 NOS powershot. It ran 10.96 @ 121 on the bottle.

Nice cars everyone!

I now drive a Mazda RX8 but I did have a Mitsubishi FTO before that.

(And previously a Volvo 440, Vauxhall Polo, Ford Escort and Datsun Cherry... in that order)

The Mazda is lovely to drive but a bit thirsty |shocking|

Lisa.

heh, great domain name :)

Keep em comming folks, I love car talk :)

Jim 2006-03-05 10:51 AM

I still drive my Ford F350 and I think I will for quite a while. I put so few miles on the truck, it will last for years. Really the only reason I keep it is that I need a truck to carry my bike and my wife's bike when it's a little too long to ride. Which with my wife, is anything over a couple of hours :)

And, with 2 boys that occasionally put the cars in ditches, my truck comes in handy :)

Jim 2006-03-05 10:53 AM

Oh crap, I have a Durango that I never drive and some sort of convertable that my wife drives.

I think my wife sold our Durango but nobody picked it up yet so who knows :)

SirMoby 2006-03-05 11:03 AM

SAAB 93 SE Convertible and a Honda CRV :)

Nice cars! I don't drive but ride in the passenger seat of a 2000 Grand Prix (sp) I know nothing about cars, or really care what we drive in. Have had a lot of cars that always get us there and back but don't look so hot! Now that the kids are grown we are thinking it's time to change, and indulge ourselves in a nice truck. One that is brand new this time, as we've never owned a new one :D

Ramster 2006-03-05 12:15 PM

Well I'm boring with a 2001 Malibu. But the wife does want a new car this spring/summer as 1 car just isn't enough. Not sure what we'll buy.

MrYum 2006-03-05 02:32 PM

Some very nice rides in this thread |thumb

Love the jeeps domain...lol. Have had a few jeeps over the years...fun vehicles!

Turned out today was car wash day, so all mine got bathed...snapped a few pics while they were out in the driveway.

Vehicles de Yum

Must be pointed out (or she'll hit me!)...the TransAm is my girlfriends baby. The Avalanche is an 02 with about 32k on the clock...great SUV/Truck. Only vehicle I've ever owned (and there's been LOTS)...that I kept when the original financing term ran out.

The bike is Elvira...damn, what a machine!

flyeruk 2006-03-05 03:26 PM

Wow, what a lovely looking 'estate' to live in MrYum :) And lots of nice motors in this thread too.

Where abouts in Florida are you?

I lived in Port st Lucie 8 years ago for 3 month and loved it.

Today wasn't car wash day... still might do that later on if I can find a willing assistant. Nice examples of ways to get around y'all! :)

One more Jeep lover here...

The same thing is true of my old (2000) Jeep Cherokee, it's up to 60,000 looks smells and drives like new :)

Bree 2006-03-05 07:14 PM

I'm just your typical whitebread suburban milf.. I drive a 2003 Ford Escape XLT

swedguy 2006-03-05 07:31 PM

Am I the only one that has given up on that thing called car?
I ditched mine after I realized that I paid more in parking fines than gas every month (and gas in Sweden is NOT cheap). Sucks living in the middle of the city.
So nowadays I stick to a great pair of shoes, my MTB and car rentals when I need to go further than my bike can take me.

when I was living in Bolivia I had a fun little 50cc scooter. All you had to do was let sniff gasoline and it would run forever. I also did plenty of walking and took the bus, when I was feeling lazy.

Sweden must have some pretty severe winters, kudos to you for biking and walking in the cold! =D

Thanks Lisa...this neighborhood and especially the back side of the property sold me on this house. I absolutely love living here. It's a small city about 25 miles south of Sarasota on the gulf side of the state. Perfect time of year now...80 during the day...60 at night...blue skies and lots of sunshine |thumb

Yea Surfn, I've always traded in vehicles about every 2 or 3 years. Not this one...the lease just ran out and I bought this sucker. Comfortable full size SUV...that converts into a full sized truck...very versatile and comes in handy frequently :)

Love the jeep Simon! Those old CJ's were sweet rigs |thumb

I honestly dunno what it would be like not to own a vehicle or two Swed...think I might blow a gasket or something ... lol. But, there really aren't any significant parking issues around here either.

You just have to make sure that your vehicle is "winterized" You would need a block heater, antifreeze rated up to -35 to -40 Celsius (-31 to -40 F)... snow tires and a remote starter (not obligatory, but nice, very nice to get into a warm vehicle and the ice has melted off the windshield.)

Thanks Bunky...but I'm a warm weather kinda guy. I'll take a day of sweating over a day of shivering anytime |thumb

bunky2u 2006-03-06 12:52 AM

yeah... times like this I miss living back in Bolivia. I spent 14 years there and left because the politics were a tad unstable, so I came back to my home country wher I am now freezing my ass off... and have been freezing my ass off for the past nine years.

Yikes...yea, I can certainly understand the need to 'get outta dodge' with regards to Bolivia |thumb

That so sucks man...9 fuckin years? Dayum...important stuff's gotta start freezin and falling off eventually yanno? Might be time to 'get outta dodge' again :D

Florida has so fuckin spoiled me...I start complaining when it drops below 60 :D

bunky2u 2006-03-06 01:54 AM

yeah... I don't plan on leaving here until my kids are out of high school and living on their own (to some degree)... that will be another seven years or so.

After that I will consider moving to a warmer country! =D

I do :) http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=25757

But usually driving around I use my Jeep Unlimited - more fun and if I go on long trips I put on the hard top.

Simon 2006-03-06 07:28 AM

Definitely not a cold weather vehicle right now. I'm going to have to rebuild my CJ a little if I take it to the mountains with me (when I move). Not only did I have the a/c removed a while ago, but I did the same thing with the heater. It seems like I'm always looking for something I don't need that I can get rid of. I think I'm a minimalist at heart. :)

Or I could just get a winter Jeep to keep my summer one company. :D

Swedguy - Yes, down in Key West it was all about walking or bicycles. Lots of scooters down there, though I never had one. Now that I'm up the Keys a bit, there's not much in walking distance anymore.

When I lived in Manhattan in the 80s I realized was paying more to park one car than it would cost me to rent one whenever I wanted, so I sold the car and did cabs and rentals for awhile. Then I fell for a '58 Bentley S1 and wound up paying for parking again. (Actually I wound up paying for parking two cars, but that's another story).
