OH! Monday The 13th!

Morning! |waves|

Well, there's a rather large concrete truck parked just outside my window & it's whisper quite, assuming that you're whispering thru a megaphone |banghead|

Sabres won yesterday 6-2, so we're still 2 points behind Ottawa for 1st in the division & 2nd overall. This weekend's game up at Ramster looks like it'll be a big one |thumb

Soprano's was pretty good & Big Love looks like it'll be a good one as well.

I still have to watch West Wing, Desperate Housewives & The L Word, so feel free to spoil them for me :D

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Monday!

Have a great day!

Fonz 2006-03-13 08:01 AM

Morning everyone.

The plane to cancun leaves at 0:00 EST so I won't get much sleep before that. First me and some friends are going to see The Darkness in Brussels and after that it's just a few hours to take-off.
I only hope my host comes back up before I leave :(

Anyway, have a nice week all and see you guys back on the 22nd :)

bluemoney 2006-03-13 08:07 AM

Good morning all |waves| Time to make the doughnuts |yawn|
PS. Have good one Fonz and don't get none on ya :D

Surfn 2006-03-13 08:10 AM

Good Morning Folks |waves|

Fonz good luck on getting your site back up |huh

No concrete trucks here today just the morning after a night of endless thunderstorms with a current temp of a very comfy 62°F |bananna|

Have a nice day and tidal waves of conversions :)

Toby 2006-03-13 08:46 AM

Mornin' y'all,

I finally got a decent nights sleep. Need to visit the local pharmacy today and find a different sinus medication that works but doesn't turn me into a zombie.

That line always makes me smile. It reminds me of a grill sauce my brother makes. The main ingredients are a bag of dried New Mexico chilis, a finely chopped habanero, and a fifth of Jack Daniels. :D

|coffee is on, mocha monday!

Jim 2006-03-13 08:52 AM

Damn, I just rolled out of bed. Plenty rested, just in a foul mood :)

dareutwo 2006-03-13 09:26 AM

Morning all -
Simply a regularly scheduled week ahead.
Have fun Fonz :)

RawAlex 2006-03-13 09:31 AM

GG, I hope you are enjoying that concrete truck. I have been living in a construction zone for 4 years now, as the neighborhood has been built around me. It's fun :(

Other than that it is a misty and sort of ugly looking day outside, but I have about 1000 things I can do so no worry. Staying in at this point isn't punishment. So I work... and work... :)

Tim Hortons is certainly served (and they opened ANOTHER one in my neighborhood this weekend, adding to the 5 or 6 within a 5 minute drive of my house. I figure they will put a drive thru window in my driveway soon.

emmanuelle 2006-03-13 09:35 AM

Sopranos was predictable...
I enjoyed Big Love though, very brave show

docholly 2006-03-13 09:35 AM

|yawn| well Sopranos kept me up waaaay past my bedtime. Then i found out we have HBOe and I could have seen it at 6pm instead of waiting until 9pm. go figure.

I missed the last 6 or so episodes in 2004 due to uh unforseen circumstances. Have to move it to the top of my Netflix and get caught up.

Lots of errands today once my fed ex gets here which hopefully will be early.

have a good one!! |thumb

good morning everyone |waves|
raining and yucchy here so should get lots of work done for a change -
it's pretty quiet here for the kids being home so I guess I should check & make sure they haven't killed each other yet first :D

Good morning world |waves|

I won't spoil West Wing for ya, |greenguy| , if you don't spoil the Sopranos for me. :D I feel asleep right before it started. Thankfully the dvr caught it so I can watch it later.

It seems like most of the Keys has been a construction zone since the storms last year. I had a nice quiet corner of the world for years, but once the noise started last year, it really has never gotten quiet again (except about 4am when I get up to hear it).

Good news on your host being back up Fonz. I know you've had enough with those guys. At least you're up before you go.

Hope your knee's feeling better today Surfn.

A great week to all,

Simon

RawAlex 2006-03-13 10:05 AM

Today will be a special day...

I found a page with an XPICS banner on it!

woohoo!

Alex

Cleo 2006-03-13 10:06 AM

Wow I just woke up.
Morning :)

Went to a swing club with my neighbor last night. It was fun, kind of like watching porn but live. Then after I went out by myself to Voodoo lounge and didn't get to bed until after 4 this morning.

Going to the gym once I'm awake and then back home to work and catch last night's showing of the Sopranos.

bunky2u 2006-03-13 10:14 AM

Good morning!

As un-Canadian as it seems, I want to go on record saying that Tim Hortons coffee tastes like road tar. Their pastries are awesome and the ice caps rule... but the coffee itself... I may as well lick the truck wash bay floors.

Other than that, I hope everybody has a great day!

MrYum 2006-03-13 11:25 AM

Happy Monday All!

Been a very busy morning so far and have lots to get done yet...sooo, better get to it!

Have a great day everyone |thumb

tristadecaphobia anyone?

busy day ahead. It's annual Vendor negotiation time.

sue-fl 2006-03-13 12:23 PM

Morning! Well went to court today with my son. We sat there for three hours only to have them ask for more time with the case. So they sent us all home and we have to go back on the 4th |angry|

Have a good one all!

Nope, not here. When I played baseball in high school I always wore #13 just to make superstitious opposing pitchers nervous. :D

Hot damn Toby, that sounds like my kind of sauce :D

Toby 2006-03-13 02:42 PM

"The Sauce"

1 bag dried chilis (choose variety to match your taste, hot-medium-mild)
1 finely chopped habanero chili (optional)
1 20 oz. bottle ketchup
1 pint Jack Daniels Tennesee Whiskey
1-1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke
1 large onion, chopped
1 large carrot, diced
1 head garlic, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp toasted cumin
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tbsp brown sugar (more sugar with hot chilis, less with mild)
1 cup white wine
1 cup apple cider vinegar

Remove the tops from the chilis and shake out as many of the seeds
as possible. Caramelize the onions, garlic, and carrots in a large
sauce pan. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered for
90 minutes. Use a hand blender to reduce the remaining larger pieces
to about 1/8" bits. Simmer for another 90 minutes. If sauce is still
a bit thin add more ketchup. Allow to cool then store in glass
bottles and refrigerate.
USE SPARINGLY, DO NOT SPILL ON YOUR CLOTHES!

natalie 2006-03-13 04:02 PM

wow thats a lot of sauce lol, sounds yummy tho.

Good morning ppl. At least I think its morning... hmm yep the clock says 7am. My sleep was 2 hours coughing, 1 hour sleep, 1 hour coughing, few more sleeping. If you still have a phlegm fetish surfn theres plenty left lol. I am going to take a nap today I think.

pornrex 2006-03-13 04:13 PM

Hey everyone.
Went to a funeral today so I'm in one of 'those' moods. :(

Have a safe trip Fonz.
RawAlex: are you sure you aren't like the majority shareholder in Tim's?
Toby: That sauce sounds awesome - dinner at Toby's!!
cd34: Triscadecaphobia: check this out! http://www.sicilianculture.com/folkl...decaphobia.htm

Linkster 2006-03-13 04:36 PM

Toby - ought to leave those seeds in there to give it that little kick that will have you opening another bottle of Jack for the evening :)

Toby 2006-03-13 05:24 PM

Yes, that would add some more kick, but the seeds can be rather bitter.
