Overbucks???? Did you get signed up involutarily too??

|huh Who is overbucks?? and why are they welcoming me to their program?? Anyone else?? Get signed up without your knowledge?

Steve 2006-04-19 10:03 PM

Yes - Just checked my email and it looks like I signed up also.

Useless 2006-04-19 10:04 PM

I don't know if I'm actually signed up, but I did receive two consecutive 'welcome' emails. Oddly enough, I couldn't find a link to their program within the body of the email. Silly spammers.

MrYum 2006-04-19 11:38 PM

Damn, either I got left out :(

Or, I deleted it with the rest of the spam :D

Don't delete them. I always keep emails like that (Overbucks are not the only ones trying to sign up webmasters like this). When I am looking for new sponsors, these emails help remind me which sponsors NOT to use.

thruma 2006-04-20 05:14 AM

Yeah I got one from them too. Don't know if I'm actually signed up either I think it's just spam

Surfn 2006-04-20 07:14 AM

I haven't seen anything from them yet. I would, of course, prefer to see a check first :D

I´m afraid you won´t get much more as this welcome e-mail from them. A check would be nice, but it seems to be a new program and I didn´t figure out who the owners are.

Got this welcome message and never signed up, I´m sure.|jester|

Simon 2006-04-20 07:46 AM

I'm not signed up, but I got their "welcome" spam and noticed they had no link to themselves in the message body too.

Nige 2006-04-20 08:15 AM

Looks like it's owned by the same people who own adultcashier.com

Darkhorse 2006-04-20 11:08 PM

I got signed up, it's nice to know what Sponsors to stay away from.

cosmiccat 2006-04-21 03:53 PM

Got the same email. Pure spam.

Jim 2006-04-21 03:55 PM

I got signed up 4 times with 4 different emails. One of them, I only used for non-adult stuff.

OverBucks 2006-04-26 07:14 AM

Hi to everyone!
Owners of Overbucks are the same owners of AdultCashier. This "welcome" email was sent to webmasters who was registered in AdultCashier.
This was one time announcement of a new program.

It is a pity that I didnt see this thread before, I would answer earlier to dispell your doubts.

No one was signed up automatically, it was only announcement of a new program.

Greenguy 2006-04-26 07:22 AM

The proper way to do it would have been for Adult Cashier to send out a newsletter to their affiliates announcing the new project. Otherwise, it's just unsolicited |spam| & now everyone that got one has a bad taste in their mouths :(

Jim 2006-04-26 07:25 AM

Number 1, I am not signed up to adultcashier.
Number 2, You sent me a "signed up" email that I have used only one other place other than non adult.

This was a very, very poor start.

1. We sent 1 email "Welcome to Overbucks" only to emails that webmasters used when they signed up for AdultCashier.

It was "Welcome" email and only the announcement of a new program.
It was a single email that we sent.
When you sign up to OverBucks, only then system send you email with link to confirm your email

2. If you got email "signed up" - so you can login to your account, isnt it?

We dont have email with this subject. Only when you sign up, you get email:

Hello xxx,

thank you for joining OverBucks!

Your Username is xxx!

Please confirm your registration by clicking this link

After confirmation your account will be activated immediately

- OverBucks team

Please give me your email, where you get "signed up" email, and i will tell you your username in AdultCashier.

Also please show me this email.

Papa 2006-04-26 07:55 AM

I got signed up and i already made some sales lol.....

Nahhh didn't get it
I feel left out

I WANT MY MTV

Useless 2006-04-26 08:01 AM

One of the primary problems is that the folks at OverBucks don't seem to have a strong grasp on the English language. The subject of the email was "Welcome to OverBucks" and the first line of the body was "Welcome to OverBucks Program!" I think they are welcoming themselves, not us. Of course, most of us silly English-speaking cocksuckers will read it as us being welcomed by them - which makes a fuck of a lot more sense.

|jackinthe

Also, I received two (2) copies of the email to the same address.

If you recieved 2 copies to the same address, means you have 2 different accounts in AdultCashier with same email address.

Give me your email, i'll tell you your ids in AdultCashier

btw, in OverBucks you can register only 1 account per 1 email address.

That one thing that pisses me off to no end - and it's not just this particular email - I get 2 or 3 or 4 copies of the same fucking email/newsletter to the same fucking email address. Get a mailer that's smart enough to remove duplicates!

And I really love the ones where you get 2, click on one of the remove links & then never get another email |thumb

Jim - can you edit up the emails that you got & post them so we can all see what's what?

Here ya go dumb fuck - webmaster at whor!ngw!ves.com (replace the exclamations with i)

Your accounts in AdultCashier:
1. acrwolftash (registered 2003-07-11 20:14:07)
2. acrwhoring (registered 2004-04-17 06:49:26)

You recieved 1 email per each account.

Jim 2006-04-26 08:57 AM

I was thinking the same thing Useless.
Who was the Einstein that decided it was a good idea to spam every email address he could find.

I guess I need to repeat this...
I never have signed up with adultchamber. And, an email address was used that was only used at one other adult webmaster site.

I am not going to post the two email addresses your program used. Since I know where I used the address that was only used once, I would kind of like to see who else they sell it to.

Okay - got me there.
|couch|
I'll man-up, take that one on the chin, and admit that those (wolftasha, whoring) are two of the names I have used when signing up to programs. :D I do wonder why I have two accounts there though. That's not something I would normally. Do I send you guys any traffic?

And we have the right to do it, like i get every time mails from this forum (and i like them). For what reason indignation is caused?

btw, a few hundreeds of webmasters signed up with Overbucks after this letter, and this letter helped them, like your emails helps me.

But i know many webmasters, that dont like recieving your emails.

There seem to be many who didn't like receiving your spam.

The indignation comes from the fact that the people who you'd really like to have on your side do not like to be approched the way you (your people) did it this time. Emails that do not come from the expected address, and that do not explain themselves in the first couple of sentences, are often stamped "SPAM" by webmasters here who are flooded with all sorts of faked emails each day.

I think you probably know that it's not how many webmasters are signed up to a program. As a program operator you must know that it's more about what kind of webmasters they are, how much traffic they have, and what the quality of their traffic is like. I can tell you that at this point there are many webmasters, who you'd like to have in your program, but who won't be signing up based only on what's been done and said so far.

I don't know you, but maybe slow down a little, apologize for the things that offended people, introduce yourself (not the program), and get to know the people here before you wind up arguing about points that will get you nowhere.

Love 'em and leash 'em,

Simon

babymaker 2006-04-26 12:56 PM

Would have been better to just say AC has a new program etc, then people wouldn't consider it spam most likley.

That's some sound advice right there |thumb

I didn't get this particular spam, though I do get plenty others every damn day |dizzy|

Papa 2006-05-22 03:56 PM

Yeah maybe he spammed but the thing i wanna know is
Is he from Israel ?
Does pay ?

LB 2006-05-23 11:18 PM

Having had one other in the office icq spammed by slickcash taking up valuable work time, having noticed an increased amount of webmaster spams, and getting calls at 3am from an American program rep who noticed I have an adult domain, pulls my phone number from my whois but still hasn't worked out that Australia might be in sleepy time and not want to discuss promoting their new webmaster program .......

..... I just want to say that I am getting sick and tired of how aggressive new programs are marketing to webmasters. Are affiliates really that hard to come by that they are now simply spamming the wm community over and over or hiring these aggressive sales reps to hound us day and night? How long do I have to wait before I get new sponsors knocking on my door at 6pm in the evening?

nekrom 2006-05-24 12:26 AM

Damb no-one ever calls me, good thing too they'd get a mouth full. As for the knocking on the door bit, leme know if it ever happns. I'll come film you chasing the bloke down the st. :)

binxgook 2006-05-24 02:09 AM

What, my 42 clicks a month arent good enough for your program:D
