|
dooh he looks like a rabbit with his tooth or teeth same as that other very well paid guy......mmmmm thats strange they all look like rabbits
|
I didn't watch today but plan on watching some tomorrow. After the USA lost so badly I'm hoping that the Ukrainians can at least make a good showing but they're up against a tough team.
|
Soccer?
|
I did not see the annoucement about the weekly pool for the trip to GG's
|
Well, Ronaldo might look sweet, he sucked big time yesterday. And there were 3 games yesterday so I figure you meant the one that he played in :)
What's this soccer thing you're talking about and how will this get me a trip to GG's? |couch| |

I hope England will win this year :D.
Huh, Germany - Polland just finished, incredible how germans fight until the last second, I admire them for that quality :). stu, yeah ... GO HOLLAND, but we'll beat you in the next qualifications for Euro 2008 :D |
alessandro, its not just our ability to fight.. but our ability to *win* ..
hhar, ;) ..as for england or the netherlands.. well.. .. .. wellll .. =) |
Ronaldo - sweet? Really? :>
|
Ronaldo was fucking useless, all the lazy bastard did was just walking around and hoping the ball lands right in front of him so he didn't have to run....LOL The game picked up a bit after Robinho came in. Ronaldo will be in the starting line up again for the next mach :(
Btw, Kaká's goal was sweet :) |
itto, yeah I admire that and I'm going to borrow it :D ( I think I quite the same most of the time anyway, mostly because I'm also a sportman and being competing for 12+ years now ).
|
Tonight we are going to buttfuck Paraguay.
England will do their job and win against T&T. 1994 when we took bronzemedal we started with a tie against Camerun. I am not worried (biggest lie today so far...)... We have pretty good players in Zlatan, Larsson & Ljungberg. /Thomas |

And fuck the Tunesians, I had 1-2 on that game. Everything looked great until those Tuna people scored a goal 3 minutes in overtime... bye bye $$$ (€€€ actualy :) ) |

Surprised there haven't been any hoorays here after the US tied against Italy... GreenGuy, raise your fist :)
Ghana rocks, along with Argentina! Sweden doesn't rock at all, but atleast we bloody scored in the 2nd game and got some points.. now if we can only get in there and humiliate England a bit in the next round, that would be fun :) As we all know, Sweden hasn't lost against England in 15 years. Tonight: Watching Korea play France at City Hall, Seoul, at 4 AM. Expecting there to be around 50,000 people there, it's f**king crazy! Considering how much France has sucked so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Korea won. That'll get the cars honking! |
Yes, well done USA!
And its 38 years since England beat Sweden the last time. I think its going to be a great fight on tuesday night. /Thomas |
I don't follow soccer at all, so can someone please explain to me why you can't screen the goalie? USA had a goal called back yesterday because the goalie's view was obstructed by a USA player that was 20-30 feet away from him? WTF is that about?

Think about hockey where the puck has to cross the blue line before any players. It's similar in soccer but either the ball or 2 players from the opposing team have to be between you and the goal line. Basically what happened was that guy ran in front of all the defenders and the ball so the only thing between him and the goal line was 1 player, the goalie. Without offsides each team would just have one guy stand by the opposing teams goal and wait for a long kick. This is also why Eddie Pope was running away from his goal instead of marking that guy that scored for Italy. For some reason he thought the defense was going to play an "offsides trap". When this happens basically all the defense moves forward and traps the other team in the offside spot. |

I mean, how many kicks are there and how many passes with the hands are there? What you call soccer should be called football around the world! Peneltykick EVERY time you touch it with your hands..... I like NFL but I just dont get the name. BTW Brazil sucks this WC! /Thomas |

btw the frence are leading the soccer game on this monent with 1-0:D |

Some additions: So at least one field player and the goalie of the other team have to be between you and the goal line when the ball leaves the foot/head of one of your own team players, when a (wrong) pass is given by one of the players of the other team you can't be offside). And then there's position offside, when a player is standing offside but doesn't interfere the play the play can go on, but in the USA's case McBride interfered the play by screening the goalie while standing offside, so no goal... And then there are some other strange offside siderules but I won't get in to them right now :D Some graphical info can be found right here :) |
He was offsides? I don't remember hearing that part of it, just that the goalie was screened & that's why the goal was not allowed.
I do understand the concept of offsides, but with all these silly American sports, we have lines on the playing field that determine what is offsides. I'm gonna have to go read Fonz's link & try to figure out how the guy on the sidelines with the flag decides where he's gonna stand :) |
