never thought it happen heart attack
monday mouring i had a heart attack was rushed to the ER and prepped for catherzation and open heart surgery and thank god they were able to put 2 stints in, one artery was blocked 99.9 % and the other 87% - the doctors said I am lucky to be here.... I just got home today
more bad news, I dont have any insuurance, the social worker at the hospital said I could qualify for the state to cover the hospital bill, but thats about it, i still gotta cover the doctor who put the stints in that saved my life, and pay for a ambulance ride from the first hospital that got me stable and got me to another hospital that done the cath and stints.... more bad news they released me from the hospital without any sample meds that I"ll be taking short term and for a long time now.... I can manage next month I am sure but this month I am so strapped for cash as I just payed all my bills and most of my family is also strapped for cash, my family doctor had a small amounts of smaple meds that I'll be taking, but not all, so I just bought 2 and 3 pills to buy me some time to get more..... I am not begging for any money from anyone but If you wanna throw a few bucks my way it would be great...I am 41 and never ever though it would happen at such a young age.... if anyone wants my epass its splat12ATepassporte.com I am gonna post this on another board that knows me for tgp owners that I sub to know I'll be taking a few days off, I am tried as I hardly slept in 4 days, I may review laying in bed later quit smooking and eat the right foods to prevent this or to lower your chances, thanks for taking the time for reading this horrible thing that happened to me |
Wow, I'm real sorry to hear that Plateman, I hope you start feeling better soon.
|
I feel your pain (or at least I once did). I've been battling a serious disease of my own for more than a year and along the way one of the meds they tried on me wound up nearly giving me a heart attack (I wound up with severe chest pains). I went to the ER and they put me through every diagnostic test imagineable. I had insurance at the time so I didn't get bent over that badly (what they didn't cover wasn't that bad), but I did find out what the full bid was and I'm sure that I gave someone at my HMO a heart attack.
In regards to your medication problems you're a bit in luck as I can somewhat help you with this. Go to http://www.RxHope.com (a former employer of mine [my .com that I used to work for]) and browse their patient assistance listings to see if your meds are covered. Even if they don't have an online app for it every pharmaceutical company has a PAP for their meds and can help you out. If their database is anywhere as good now as we had it then you should at least get the contact info that you need. You can also try http://rxassist.org/ and see if they have the PAP forms and contact information that you need. PM me here, ICQ me, or send me email to webmaster@adultpicweb.com if you need help navigating through the PAP process. |
glad that you are still with us plateman, sorry to hear about all the bad news, that is a frightening ordeal to go thru to say the least... do you have a paypal acct by any chance?
|
There is a reason I spend over two hours at the gym ever other day besides being narcissistic.

|

|

Wow plateman that is scary. So glad you didn't have to have open heart surgery though. Glad to hear your home and feeling a little better. Yeah the meds can be a huge problem I really feel for you there. Best of luck to you |thumb

Sounds like you know what's at stake. Blessings, man. |virgohippy|
You gotta paypal account? I'm only a poor hippie, but I think I can chip in a few. Maybe if enough hippies get comunal n schtuff, it'll help. :) My long term Rx: oatmeal (old fashioned rolled oats cooked stovetop) in the mornings, a little fish, and flax seed. Tip: make oatmeal with a good amount of (soy) milk, a pinch of salt, and a few table spoons of brown sugar. Mix in the flax seed before you cook it stove top style and you won't even know it's there. Flax and oats aren't supposed to be punishment afterall. ;) Rice is also good to eat with high cholesterol foods - it's one of the best absorbers of ingested cholesterol. Don't doubt the power of omega fatty acids. A friend of mine dropped 30 points only taking omega infused fish oil capsules with breakfast. Exercise is boring. If you can find one thing you can do at least 10 minutes every day that's fun - like taking a walk or wrestling with angry lesbians - you'll be doing quite a lot. The important part is fun - give yourself motivation that'll actually motivate. Nicotine's killer... hippie's lost his fair share to the devil's weed. Don't... just don't... |cry| One more thing: take an art class... painting, martial arts, metal sculpture, hacking at tree stumps with a chainsaw, anything! Whatever you do, don't take it seriously. Have fun with it. Don't ask me why, just do it. If you do, you won't need me to explain why, you'll have figured it out by the time you're done. :) |
Damn sorry to hear what happened but glad to hear you're still here. |thumb
|
Wow this comes as a surprise. I hope you'll manage to get trough this hard ordeal.
|
Very sorry to hear what happened... Hope u feel better and best of luck to u!

Jesus, that sucks Plateman. My father had 3 heart attacks before he hit the age of 30. And still today, he eats the same as always, smokes at least 2 packs/day and really gets no exercise. Just by living till now, he seems to have beaten the odds.
Changing your entire way of life is a hard challenge. I wish you the best of luck with it. |
Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad that you pulled through!
|
Wow - that sucks. I hope you're feeling well soon, plateman.
|
Damn Plate, that just sucks |cry|
|
Glad you made it Plateman. That was a close call. When I was younger I was ten feet tall and bullet proof. The older I get the shorter I get and the bullets are getting closer. I guess it's time for a lifestyle change for me. (Eat better, quit smoking, exercise, etc.)

Wow plateman, sorry to hear that! Here is some suggestions I have to pass along, from a woman who dropped her cholesterol 91 points.
1. everything virgo hippy said. The first two below definitely take: 2. Policosanol (I take 40mg you can get at walmart) 3. Gugulipid (I take 1,000mg) 4. Fish Oil 5. Flax Seed Oil 6. Lethicin 7. CoQ10 If you need to take scripts, see if you dr. will perscribe you stuff on the walmart $4/month list. There is a LOT of cardiac drugs on that list. My dr. just put me on stuff for my arthritis, and it was only $4/mo. Remember, WORK OUT A PAMENT ARRANGEMENT with the hospital. They CANNOT force you to pay it all at once. Come up with an amount you can afford, pay that every month, and stick to it. As long as you make monthly payments, they can't turn you in for not paying the bill. I have done this 2x in my life so I'm speaking from experience. Good LUCK, take care, so sorry to hear that. My prayers are with you. |
Good Luck - hope it all turns out well for you!

See if your doc can hit up the BMS field rep for the two weeks worth of samples that you need. That's pretty much what forced the formation of PAP's in the first place: field reps helping people with tons of samples. As long as your doc explains that it's to help a patient of his who's waiting for his PAP app to clear the rep shouldn't be a dick about it.

Dude, I've been waiting to hear more about the specifics of your situation. I don't know about anyone else, but it's not like I'm rolling in so much money I can afford to give cash I can't write off, to a guy in trouble, when I don't know how much they need, what it will be used for, how long they will need it, and so on.
How much do you need? What is it for? When will you need more? I don't wanna invade your privacy man, but untill you mentioned plavix, I had no idea what the fuck was really going on. |

the problem i got was i came into this biz with to many other bills and never really had a chance to pay other stuff off while I still worked my off line decent paying job, and then this came right after xmas and right after I payed the bulk of my monthly payments, credit cards, store cards, hosting that comes the end of the month...ect. ect then i gotta make a paper on how much I made in 06 and have it notarized to get the state to pay about a 30k hosiptal bill and then make payments to the doctor who did the stents and i was just getting to the point where I was able to pay most of my bills on time, and now I got more expenses... I thought about getting a part time job to pay off some of my debts to make it easier, but have fiber maliga really bad, about 2 hours of walking around shopping requires 2 vicodone to do it without being in pain, then when I come home from that I can hardly stand to sit in my chair to work a few hours.... then I could have worked parttime in the field I done for 20 years but almost every transmission shop in my surrounding area is ready to go out of business, in the last 6 months 30 year old new car dealerships are closing of bought out or is on cash only around town... ohio got hit really hard economically, an I am glad I started my online porn biz as it has been paying my bills, I just gotta rough it and keep going and get this past me... I am not gonna reply anymore or talk about as it already made me smoke 2 cigs and didnt have any sine I got out of the hospital |
Wow....so sorry to hear about your ordeal Plateman, but damn glad you're still among us.
Wish I could help in other ways, but not in the cards currently. Sending you all the good thoughts and karma possible though :) |
wow, i am gone for a couple of days and see your post plateman, now i am glad your still with us and i hope your health will be better soon!
|
Very sorry to hear. I just traveled 2500 miles in the past month with my dad being in the hospital, infection in his back. Right now away from family staying at their house to help out. Lucky he has insurance. Aumbulance alone was $1400, man they sure get you.
My wife has recurring kidney stones, I know all about hospital bills.:( Get better real soon and take care of yourself! You'll get through it, we are all pulling for you. |
I missed this thread somehow, get rest and get well soon and never give up. And avoid stress, that won't help. Easier to say than do but I am sick myself so I know what you are going through.. fingers crossed.
|
I lost my mom to heart disease, I don't know if you have any kids but remember the smokes and the junk food you give up just gives you that much more time with your family. it's a hard fight for everyone around you.
don't give up. i wish i had some money to help, but I'm a broke fool so i hope you get better soon. |
Just read this, hope things work out for you. ;)
