Good morning and Happy Valentine's Day |flowers|
We are getting pounded with snow this morning. I think we have about 16 inches right now and it's not supposed to get bad until later today. Nothing quite like a good nor-easter coming into town :) The last good one was a few Christmas Eve's ago when we got 4 Feet overnight. The first and only time my truck got stuck in snow.

Anyway, with all this snow and being Valentine's Day, I will be scarce most of the day :)

Just got up and looked outside and it looks like today is gonna be a write off as well here in toronto. Oh well, at least we finally got our first snow storm. I wonder if those groundhogs saw this coming...|huh

Since I'm girlfriendless I don't care that much about Valentine's day so it's just a regular day for me.

The evil people who live inside the glowing box tell me that I should expect 18-36 inches of snow today. Guess they can't narrow it down to a more specific target. The schools are closed and the wife called off work, which is a true rarity. (She's not like me - she has an old school work ethic.) Getting to work would have been easy this morning. Coming home tonight would have been treacherous. So I'll be spending my day playing with the new snowblower she authorized me to purchase last night. :D I'm loved. Or at least, not wanted dead yet.

Just another day in FAKE paradise here.. everything is closed off or blocked or taken for the All Star Game on Sunday. Palms is the official home of the NBA in Vegas and as of yesterday they had their entire parking lot blocked off so i had to park on the 3rd freaking floor of covered parking for our pre-ASG vendor meeting.. and apparently our infamous mayor, ex-mob lawyer turned politico, Oscar Goodman is going to announce the building of some huge sports facility for either a pro hockey or B-Ball team here at Sunday's game. I think it means MORE traffic to me. |angry|

Hope you all get VD today, or have happy VD or whatever it is that you are suppose to have today.

We took the day off yesterday and went to a small B&B for the night and just chilled, didn’t quite get the rest we wanted, but we tried. We retuned home just a few minutes ago to find out that we must have lost power last night as our computers were all off and our DVR's are all fucked, so I get to deal with that now and all I feel like doing today is get more sleep.

74F and breezy, suppose to get in mid 30's as the low this weekend, so I need to bring the plants back inside.

Oh good, DVR’s are “fixed” now…. nap time...

My oldest son who doesn't come visit his Mom as much as I think he should left me a message on my anwsering machined this morning. It said Happy VD and I love you Mom |cry| He went on to say he did not want to wake me up and told me to go look in the mailbox. There was a beautiful card in there..|cry| |cry|

Today will be a teary eyed day for me...:D Have a great day all!

2nd day snowed in here. We ended up with 14-16 inches of snow and had 30-40 mph winds all of yesterday and last night. Worst snow I have ever seen in my life, first time any snow storm here has been officially called a blizzard. My dad says its the worst since the blizzard of '78 which was a couple of years before my time.

My folks live not far from Kokomo, had a 5ft drift in their drive way this morning. And that is after my father has been plowing on and off for the last 24hrs. They live out in the middle of corn & soybeans fields, no wind blocks at all.

No one is allowed on the roads unless they are emergency response.

Torn grew up in the middle of no where Indiana. Remembers seeing the top of the school bus while standing on the snow drifts in '78.

If we were still there right now, we would be settled in front of our wood burning fireplace we had.

Just another winter day here in the Keys, high of 82F expected today. No snow blowers disturbing the day, but I did hear a leaf blower a couple of blocks away.

A very humpity hump day to all.

Oh yeah, its aboslutely awful here, they just now opened up the roads in Howard County at noon. All of the surrounding counties are still in states of emergency, and they are giving people that are out tickets. Guess they mean business when they say they dont want anyone out in the roads. My grandma lives way way out in the middle on no where out by Burlington, she says its a nightmare out there.

Gotta finish up here so I start the process of digging out of this mess.

I lived in Indianapolis, Indiana that year. We had drifts that covered the house. We had one door that opened in, and had to crawl out that door, onto the roof of the house and dig for days to get the driveway cleared and for us to be able to see out the front door. School was closed for more than two weeks if I recall, and we had to tune into the public TV stations who broadcast classes for us while the city was snowbound. There were some warnings, so, we did have plenty of food and wood and power was intermittent for weeks. I think that was the 2nd year I ended up with pneumonia. Our backyard was flooded with the snowmelt for weeks.

I don't miss it. :)
