Good Early Snowy Thursday Morning

Morning
I spent most of he day yesterday using my snowblower. One new neighbor asks me, "where do I put all the snow? Should I just put it back in the road?" I didn't think he was serious so I told him, "that's what snowplows do to us". So last night, that was exactly what he did. But, he put it on our side. So when the plow went by, it took all his snow and put it in our driveway. And, he snowblowed another neighbor and threw all the snow in an old man's driveway that spent the entire day with a shovel. And this morning...it's on. :) As soon as the sun comes up, I will be out there putting the snow back in it's rightful place again :) This guy has one of those 2 stroke piece of shit flapper snow throwers. I have a giant Airens snowblower. I will easily be able to take all our snow and the old man's snow and put it right in this guys driveway about 40 feet away :) It's a dog eat dog world out there when it comes to snow. :)

It stopped snowing about midnight so it should really only take me about 2 hours to get rid of what's left and do the old man's driveway.

And like I said, it's on :)

Good Morning Everyone |waves|

Jim that sounds like a lot of fun. Good luck putting that snow back :D

Jim 2007-02-15 04:43 AM

Stu, it is about -12 Celsius (9 degrees Fahrenheit) this morning. Not quite shirt weather. And the only reason it is that warm is because of the clouds. With the wind at 30 mph, that is -13 Farenheit or -25 Celsius.

Fonz 2007-02-15 04:59 AM

Morning all,

This morning we have a clear blue sky, 47.1 °F / 8.4 °C. So it still doesn't feel like winter here. We had a bout 2 or 3 days of temperatures below 0°C this year. Can't wait for all thos mosquitos to hatch in a few months.

I really think you snow people should put up some pics so we, tropical climate people, can see how it's like to live in a white world :)

Have a nice day all.

rachelo 2007-02-15 05:32 AM

Good Morning All,

I still miss the snow, moved from Michigan to Arizona about 2 years ago and I know exactly what Jim is talking about. The snow blowing wars were always fun.

Since I got no snow to blow, I think I will do some work and catch up on my free site building.

Have a great day!

Simon 2007-02-15 05:39 AM

Good snow-free morning world |waves|

I agree with Fonz, I want to see pics of Jim shoving his neighbor under his snow blower. :D

Heading for 77F here today, so the mosquitos will be happy.

A good "it's on" Thursday to all.

:)

Jim 2007-02-15 06:02 AM

I just surveyed the landscape and have a good plan for the snow. I will let the road plows do most of the work to fill in the culprit's driveways :) A couple of nicely placed snowpiles in the road just before the driveways and my job will be done. Even when these people clean out their driveways again, the first time a snow plow goes by, boom...filled again. :)

i know its very cold, but i dont wanna have all the cold:D
The last time we had a very good winter was about 20 years ago (i was 18 that time), we didnt had much snow but your body would freeze if you went outside the house. Since then we never ever had a real winter and this year its realy insane the temp is way to high.

Mr Spock 2007-02-15 07:25 AM

Hi Jim

Sitting in shorts & t-shirt, sweating my ass off. Enjoy the snow!

lorsha 2007-02-15 07:25 AM

32" here. Was an amazing storm. Now time to go and tackle it! Enjoy your day everyone.

Up way too early today. Wife had to go back to work and she's afraid to drive in this even though we have a 4x4 Explorer. Spent a good part of yesterday digging out of this mess. For those you wanting to see snow here are some crappy before sunrise pics I just now took for you guys :)

First pic is of the area of my backyard I dug out so my dog could go outside.

Hell guess I can only do 1 pic at a time.

2nd pic is of the rest of my backyard, somewhere underneath all that snow is my goldfish and koi pond.

3rd pic is of my patio area, the little green handle sticking up out of the snow is the top of a weed eater that I have been meaning to throw out to the trash but keep forgetting about it.

ponygirl 2007-02-15 07:42 AM

good morning everyone |waves|

Mr Exotic - looks just like what we have. couldn't get the car out of the driveway yesterday morning till they came around and plowed - we're stuck at the end of a row of houses and get the drifting snow, plus the plow pushes all the snow to the end of the (dead end) street, so our driveway is usually half blocked with a huge mountain of snow |angry|

oh well, can't be too long now till it all starts to melt...although we have gotten some doozies as late as April. Just gotta have hope :)

have a great hot/cold day!
:)

Mr Exotic 2007-02-15 07:49 AM

I should also add that its a nice balmy -5, haha.

terry 2007-02-15 07:54 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

I hear ya Jim.. thats exactly what I do. I was out before the sun this morning clearing all the driveways and it amazes me how many people throw the snow on their neighbours lot or on the road. Have fun Jim!

Its very windy here this morning, so if you have to go out, dress real warm!

Have a great day!

MrMaryLou 2007-02-15 08:09 AM

Good Morning All :)

Good Thursday Peoples |waves|

Woke up to a balmy -2°F and now it's warmed up to 3°F |thumb

Jim - I used to love positioning snow in front of my house on the street so that it fucked over the next driveway when the plows came by. There's a way to do it properly so that no one is fucked, but some people just throw it out in the street & then go have warm coco |crazy|

I finally got my banners all rotated yesterday, which means I have 7-10 free days of regular work before I start on the next stats run |banghead|

Mr Exotic - that's not snow...just ask Ramster - this is snow :D

Toby 2007-02-15 09:04 AM

Mornin' y'all,

No snow here, but almost cold enough to have snow. Might have to break down and get the heater fixed in the van.

Short day planned, the go fast turn left guys are on at 2:00 PM Eastern.

|coffee is on, help yourself

Cleo 2007-02-15 09:24 AM

No snow here and I have the A/C on.

Didn't get anything done yesterday as when I got home from the gym a few of my girlfriends came over and we never made it out of bed until this morning so now I need to try to get caught up in work today.

What's for breakfast?

Ramster 2007-02-15 09:31 AM

Good Morning and happy school trip in the freezing cold day. :(

Snow in Buffalo during Super Bowl weekend was plentiful. :D

Snow here too and cold as hell. -21 but feels like -34 with wind chill. And I gotta go to on a school trip at noon to the big sledding/sliding park. Nice spot with ALL the hills made of snow and ice only so it is cool. But I for one think it is a bit cold to be taking 6-9 year olds for 2 hours.

MrYum 2007-02-15 09:46 AM

Gooood mornin all |waves|

That's way too much snow for this warm blooded pornslinger :D

Have a great day everyone!

|yawn| Morning...

I think i'm addicted to Advil PMs. I find if i take one at oh 9-930pm I can sleep all the way to 530-600am.. woot woot.. |bananna|

We have snow -- on top of the canyon--which makes it very pretty.. beautiful red rocks with snow on top.

Today is catch-up day.. we have the Po-Po out today, since we are expecting between 300-350K people in town for the NBA All Star Game. The festivities kick off this afternoon but in their great wisdom, the very smart Vegas 911 police are setting up traffic stops in residential neighborhoods to catch all the criminals rollling into town for the game. Oh yeah..they announce where they are going to be as well. |goodidea

This afternoon the Rug-Dawg and I, thanks to Red Cherry and Madhatter, will be attending the All-Star Jam at the Mandalay. This will involve me parking at the luxor and walking over since the very last place I want to park will be the Mandalay. |thumb

Otherwise it's a regular work day for me.

Stay warm, drink lotza cocoa laced with brandy and have a $$ filled day. |waves|

Useless 2007-02-15 10:06 AM

I'm completely dug out now. I also did the sidewalks of three of my neighbors and the driveway of one my less-than-favorite neighbors. I'm sure that big snow bank will keep them from using my sideyard as a widened version of their driveway. |thumb My new snowblower made me feel like a kid playing in the snow. Speaking of playing in the snow, that's what my kids are doing right now. TWO SNOW DAYS IN A ROW! Damn kids. There were a few more than a handful of school closings today.

Now that I'm done, I'm sitting here pantless with white socks, sipping my coffee.

Torn Rose 2007-02-15 10:30 AM

Thank you all for reminding me why I left the midwest... 64F now with a high for 68F so a freezing day here... |sun

emmanuelle 2007-02-15 10:36 AM

It's windy out there, and we only got a few inches of snow. Hard to tell though since the wind is causing both drifting and bare patches.

I park underground, so my car will be warm, and no need to use the snowbrush that I broke at GG's place- they need to make a no-touch snowblower for cleaning off cars.

Jim 2007-02-15 10:40 AM

Well, I got a little out of control. I did put the piles in the road strategically but when I saw the old mans driveway, I just threw all the snow from that in his neighbors driveway with car still parked.

Looking at the driveway now, I can't see where the snow ends and where the car begins :)

Wow that is some snow. I like the snow we got here day before yesterday. Isn't Isn't this pretty I can look at the snow, but not deal with it.

Good luck with all the clearning your driveways, that looks like it is a real mess back there. I grew up in Michigan, and I remember those days.

Today we are having a contractor come over and price out putting a shade covering over our back patio. The back side of our house faces south, and the sun really blasts in the windows in the winter time. We are thinking of just putting up a frame, then stretching like 80% shade cloth over it, then redwood lattice underneath. Look pretty without all the work and expense of building a roof. |thumb Must hurry before it is so hot, we don't want to work out there.

There was a time that I truly enjoyed all four seasons, but now Winter makes me feel old. And if you suffer from an type of depression, cold, snowy winters have a special way of making it worse. This area is gorgeous Spring, Summer and Fall, but Winter sucks ass. Pretty from a distance, but that's the extent of it. No one should live north of Maryland.

bDok 2007-02-15 11:41 AM

Whoaaa. All that snow. I don't know the first thing about what's that like. That's just intense. Off to get my car lube/oiled up before I drive out to Phoenix this weekend. Then back to code some more and get a freesite off. Cheers everyone. Happy "it's on" Thursday. :D

cd34 2007-02-15 01:00 PM

no snow.
no sun.
lots of work.
lots of work.

:)

Afternoon! My lazy ass didn't get up till 11am today |bananna|

Those pics of the snow sure are pretty to look at but I don't miss it one bit.

RedCherry that was a pretty pic |thumb

When I got online I discovered I have the peanut butter they say could be tainted. |banghead| This is crazy it seems its something all the time lately that is tainted. Maybe the old days are coming back where you ate what you grew in the yard |huh

Time to work now....have a great day all!

SheepGuy 2007-02-15 01:27 PM

Aaah, neighbor wars! The best one I can remember is when the guy across the back fence from me kicked my dog when I was a kid. Bad move, when I found out about it I took my Dad's 9 iron and practiced chip shots with dried up dog turds into his swimming pool :D
It was an above ground pool and I bet he's still wondering which one of his mutant kids crapped in it ;)

Not a bad idea |thumb

Today's monoculture farming practices produce crops that are highly susceptable to disease. Instances of tainted food are only going to become more and more common.

Tell that to the snowbirds down here that stay, but with a minor change:

I have thumbsplus on this pc and that is the extent of the my graphics software :) I just finished everything and in the process, got really sore and even blew out my knee. My knee blows out about twice/year so it's not a big deal but still damn sore.

Gettin' old sucks :D

The day I turned 40, many moons ago I couldn't see my computer screen. Had to use a big magnifying glass to read e-mails. That's when I knew I was old. Have glasses now....:D
