LL owners would you be willing to accept a recip with one link?
 

This is a question for link list owners who have category recips.

Would you be willing to accept a recip with just one link to your link list if all the other recips on the page also had just one link in them as well?

Personally I think the whole category recip thing has been a failure and having all these outgoing links on as free site's root page is counter productive not to mention a pain in the ass for site builders.

I'm hoping that enough LLs would be will to go back to one link per recip to at least have some of our doorway pages use recips with just one link.

My directory is already a non category recip.
I will take non category recips on my link list but it's not in the rules. I probably should ad that to the recips page today since I'm doing nothing but watching football. :)

I have no problem with one link...I'm actually planning to revise my recips to just a single link to my main page here sometime soon...

I switched to one link when I added a bunch of categories a while ago (I was NOT going to make 50 some more recips :))

The ones I have for submitters to copy alternate between my index and main page, just to mix it up a bit. For the most part I don't care what the recips look like, but I don't have the SE traffic or concerns that others do, so I can't say whether it's better or not.

The mighty Perve has never had category recips and doesn't require such. I'm pretty sure that most of the submitters there realize that they can link to me using whatever text they choose - those sick puppies. WhoringWives has category-specific recips, but I assume all my partner submitters know that I don't require them.

As I've posted before, I'll accept a single general recip.

I have some old school submitters that still use my old general recip, but very few others take me up on that.

I prefer 1 link, some insist on adding a cat link, but I really wish they would just use one link.

Doesn't matter to me if the others are one link or two. I have niche specific recips with two links and a general recip with one and either are fine with me.

Wow, that's nice to see! I prefer to link back with a single recip - saves me the hassle of getting the exact right link back before I submit and I think it's more fair too (one link for one link trade, so to speak).

I am always looking for a few more LL's that require only one link back. I test those for a while and then stick to the ones that send me the best traffic (quantity, not quality, I'm a shallow kind of girl :D)

I have category recips but I don't mind if someone submits with a one link recip as long as it leads to my index page. ;)

I'm planning going to chance my recips one of these days with just a sngle link to my index page. So feel free to use just 1 link for Smiling Pussy Links.

I've always took a single text link, the only thing I ask is that if you submit to a not so commmon category or reality to use the category recips

I'm not very picky about it either. Link to the index page, link to the category page, link to both. Doesn't really matter.

Do people know that I have NEVER forced people to use my category recips? There's a 1 link "default" recip on there as well as a link to my old page that has a shitload of images & gifs you can use.

That's not to say that I don't want people to use the category recips - I actually prefer it. But it's not a requirement (and never was).

Oddly enough, on PornMovieLinks, I only have 1 recip, yet people are always adding a link to the category page as well. |huh

I have four recips available that all link to my index. Just choose the one you prefer or make a custom recip of your own.

I kind of like custom recips to be honest because the text used is always different.

With some LL's we just prefer to keep the owner happier ;) Seriously, if you prefer it that way, why would we not do the extra recip? LOR isn't that easy to get accepted to, so it's best to stick to what you can do to make the reviewer happy. If you were to say that you didn't mind one way or the other, count on this submitter to be switching to a single recip ASAP ;)

Is it however a criteria used in evaluating a site?

Say you had two identical sites except 1 had category recip and the other had the general recip and you had one to pick one. Would you give the cat recip an extra point or two, or just flip a coin?

Although general recips are easier on the submitter, I don't mind taking another few seconds to use the cat recip if it pleases the list owner...especially a high traffic list owner.

Just add "mom" to that and you'd sound like my eldest son :P Some kids are too smart for their own good ;)

What about text-only recips? Any recommendations for those?

I will also take single recips and always have, but I do prefer category recips. I also build freesites, so I am familiar with the extra work linking to cats. It's not that much more work really, after you've hunted down the niche links once you simply reuse them.

But I wonder why LL owners would not prefer cat links over single general links as you then have to re-filter the surfer. Not to mention pumping niche targeted traffic into your categories to boost traffic for those very same submitters.

Another point for niche recips might be the extra backlinks for our cats which then may get better search engine traffic, that then provides the submitters with better and more traffic...

These are the ones I submit to that allow a general recip. A couple of them are social bookmark sites.

This is why I use cat recips when I can - told the same thing to Tigermom in a chat yesterday.....

As far as MY LL is concerned I don't care but on my FS's, I'd like to keep the site as surfer friendly as possible

Ok, I'm late reading this thread...but one recip is fine by me. I've had one on my recip page for a while, or you can make your own.

I know most of you don't care but just want to confirm. I doesn't affect the review of the site if a general recip is used right?
