Who will be our next president

I'm curious about how my fellow porn slingers are voting
Arizona has closed primaries so being an Independent this will be the only place I vote

Greenguy 2008-01-29 01:29 PM

We can set up a poll if you want.

The list would be:
Hillary Clinton
Barack Obama
Republican Cocksucker
I Don't Vote

T Pat 2008-01-29 01:32 PM

damn your fast today I was setting up the poll while you were posting

Torn Rose 2008-01-29 01:39 PM

Barack Obama

Jim 2008-01-29 01:40 PM

It's too early to know. :) But I took a guess.

Fonz 2008-01-29 01:42 PM

My money is on that McCain dude.
Good thing I can't vote :D

Jim 2008-01-29 01:45 PM

I guessed Romney. I figure the democrats are going to screw it up somehow.

It sure is |banghead|

McCain doesn't have much of a chance these days I don't think. Not enough people care about the war anymore and that is all he has. And Romney keeps reminding him kind of saying, it's the economy stupid. :)

Useless 2008-01-29 02:03 PM

My current hope is Obama. Or, as I say it, OBAMA!!! I'd love to see an Obama/Edwards ticket or an Edwards/Obama ticket. (Can you imagine having two intelligent, likable young guys running things?) I don't want Hillary because I don't think that this country can afford another 4 years under republican leadership.

I really hope McCain wins the republican nod because I'm fairly certain that we won't elect his withered old ass. I used to really admire that man and it broke my heart to see him cower down and huddle up with GW.

While I wouldn't vote for McCain personally, I believe he has the best chance.

McCain may not have the economy issue pegged, but, there's only one person that voted for immigration reform running for President that provided a method for immigrants to legally stay in the country. Obama voted against it, Hillary voted for it and then backpedaled and McCain (with Kennedy) spearheaded it -- McCain was ostracized by other Republicans.

So, if we look at what Obama is doing (bringing out the youth vote) and the fact that some of the primaries are having more people vote than in previous presidential elections and the fact that the primaries haven't hit some of the states where immigration is a strong issue, I think we really have an item with momentum.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Obama vs McCain with a very close race at the end. If Bloomberg would run, I think he would win.

Greenguy 2008-01-29 03:22 PM

Who Will Be Our Next President? is a lot different than Who are you going to vote for?

If that list is in the booth in November, I'd pick Edwards - but I have the feeling his name is not going to be in there (unless it's under Clinton or Obama)

Element115 2008-01-29 04:15 PM

I'm about to hit 30 this year and ever since I can remember, there has been either a Bush or a Clinton in the White House, so my vote goes to anyone that isn't a Bush or a Clinton...We need some new blood in there, this isn't a Monarchy!

bluemoney 2008-01-29 04:17 PM

I was hoping Evan Bayh would run . . . . Prolly vote Libertarian.

You have Yankee blood in those veins? No one outside of Indiana has a clue who he is. And I agree, I wish he would have ran.

And I agree with you as well Greenie, but I am voting for Barack and I think he will win. It really is time for a change.

matyko 2008-01-29 04:47 PM

"Barack" means "Peach" in hungary :P
i will never understand US election system... I can tell you, here in europe most people doesnt care about this, because of bye bye Bush... :) This is more than enough for us :D

Lemmy 2008-01-29 05:38 PM

I would have hoped for Kucinich, but due to an incredibly flawed system of primaries I don't even get to vote for him.

Of the 3 remaining dems it's a tossup. They're all just incarnations of the same thing (along with the republicans); talking heads who will say/do anything to get the donation/endorsment/vote. I think anyone who believes in the mantra of change will be sorely disappointed.

LD 2008-01-29 07:10 PM

I still think Hillary is going to pull it off, although the SC thing gives me a lot of second thoughts. I too wonder if racial "slip" made by Bill was actually scripted, to get people thinking about race, and maybe divide us along racial lines.

I would like to see the Edwards/Obama ticket too.. tho maybe Gore will reappear and run with Obama.

No reason to get "shitty" Torn :D

Scary fucking election. McCain doesn't have a fucking prayer...no charisma whatsoever! Personally I don't think any Republican can win which means whoever gets the nomination is in. Hillary or Obama....jesus fucking christ...I'll take Obama!!

docholly 2008-01-30 09:56 AM

I see Rudi dropped out and now Edwards is dropping out too.

Simon 2008-01-30 11:34 AM

I really wish Rudi and Edwards were just the start of things. And that throughout the day more and more candidates would announce they were dropping out until they were all gone.

I had to click 'other' only because I didn't want to vote for any of them, not even in a poll.

George Phillies for President because Ron Paul wants to much State intervention! LOL

I'm Canadian so I can't vote but if I could it would be the Democrat candidate whoever that may be. I guess the chick or the black guy. (It's a joke people!)

I am a Conservative here in Canada but the is the equivalent of a right wing Democrat in the States. Thankfully Evangelicals have virtually no influence in our system.

Jim 2008-01-30 01:15 PM

Canada does look really attractive :)

stuveltje 2008-01-30 01:38 PM

i would say ( and i am sure you all dont care what i say, but its just fun for me to say it:D) obama will win, then hilary will end second place and cries around that the votes are wrong counted in some countries and she demand a new counthing thing and then she will win:D but then its only me who say it and i dont know anything about the politics in usa...i only see what the news shows here and its all about hilary and obama day in and out..pfffffffff

ArtWilliams 2008-01-30 01:50 PM

I don't want to co-op this thread but here are the positions of the main political parties in Canada on health care:

Conservative Party: Wants private enterprise to help run the system. None-the-less, every citizen has a health card and is covered at doctor offices and hospitals.

New Democrat Party (socialists): Wants all current health services run by the government and wants others like dental and 100% of prescriptions added.

Liberal: Likes status quo of government running the hospitals.

There are no ELECTED parties in Canada who support a private system. That's one reason why Republicans hate us.

Jim 2008-01-31 11:01 AM

You never know Fonz. Stu could be talking about the democratic primary. There is a good chance that one of them is going to ask for a recount in one state or another.

But no...in the general election it will be either McCain or Romney vs Obama or Clinton.

Not necessarily true, if either party candidate doesn’t have the required delegates, that would force the DNC or the GOP to have a real convention where they regroup and keep voting until they have a candidate that they all agree on, and as funny as it sounds, it could be anyone, currently running for president or not.

CNN had Newt on TV a week or so ago and asked him about the rumors that he *COULD* get the GOP candidacy if this would happen since if it got to that point of McCain vs Romney at the GOP convention with no clear front runner the GOP would find someone they could all love and who they think would win.

Newt grinned and then refused comment.

I think the odds of this are VERY low, but that is how this was all supposed to work. Of course if this happens to the DNC the front runner COULD be Al Gore.

Personally, I do not think either party will get to this point, but it could happen.
