My New Theatre Room

I thought I'd post some photos of the new theatre room I finally finished in the basement.

Room size: 21x11. The screen is 8 feet wide, Projector is 1080 all hi-def of course. Picture is awesome with the Blue Ray player and just as good using the hi-def satellite signal. Hockey games, all sports etc., I'm loving it.

Photos here. A couple pics of my bar area too:

Romo????? Romo???? oh please.... I hope there is a "1" or "8" on that white jersey.

Simon 2008-04-17 12:56 PM

Nice work there Ramster. :)

(I really like the big Velcro pads on the walls to catch the tossed Velcro-covered dwarves--or do you use midgets in Canada?)

Ramster 2008-04-17 01:10 PM

Thanks everyone.

Yes that is a Manning jersey. :)

A friend here has a contact so I got the jersey's for $60 each and actually got 2 more for $50 each, a Randy Moss and Rothlesberger that I need to hang somewhere still.

LOL. Those are foams panels to reduce the sound from bouncing around the walls. Gives a more clear surround sound effect.

Preacher 2008-04-17 06:59 PM

Looks very nice. I like the wall with the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" poster next to "Rocky". That's quite a combination.

Those drop down ceiling panels don't buzz when there's a lot of bass?

Thanks!

Ceiling panels are acoustic so they're heavy and I have them doubled up. Plus I insulated the floor joists above to reduce vibration and sound throughout the house.

WOW!! The sound must be incredible in your theatre! Very nice room and bar area also. Hope you, family and friends enjoy it |thumb

That's an awesome setup, i thought i went mad with a 42" screen and 7.1 digital surround.

If i don't feel the urge to hit the deck watching an action movie it's not worth the time. lol

Great job. |thumb

Yell 2008-04-18 10:07 AM

Very nice ram |thumb

LD 2008-04-18 10:10 AM

Cool...we could all come over sometime...:)

Greenguy 2008-04-18 10:12 AM

Cute popcorn machine :D

Is the sound 5.1 or 7.1?

RedCherry 2008-04-18 10:22 AM

I'm very jealous, that is very cool! I like that popcorn machine, lol. I'm glad Simon asked about the panels, I was wondering what those are too. Hope you have a lot of fun watching movies in that!

Useless 2008-04-18 10:44 AM

What, no gloryhole booth? :D

Ramster 2008-04-18 04:34 PM

Yell, hockey games look awesome on the screen too. ;)

Greenguy, it's 5.1. 7.1 adds 2 more surround speakers and the room really isn't built for it. 7.1 is good if you have more room behind the seating they told me and I just didn't with the room only 21' deep and the ceilings so low. (They might add another back speaker in the middle to make it 6.1)

Useless, I'm married. Blowjobs are pretty much long gone let alone a gloryhole booth dedicated to them. :D

**Hand raised in agreement**

Simon 2008-04-19 07:14 AM

Damn ... in that case I think I'd have spent the money on blowjobs.
