Cucumber Links Down?
 

I've been getting a 404 error on http://www.cucumberlinks.com/ all day long - anyone know what's going on?

Is it just me, or are a bunch of sites down today? In addition to Cucumber, I also can't get JK's or Forest Of Porn.

Hi JK. Yeah, they're both working now. I wasn't able to get them for around 30-45 minutes (same time I noticed Cucumber was down).

Don't know about those sites, but I do know that I'm having internet issues with sites in the US for several days now. Many sites don't show up when I first try to access them, but do once I refresh the page.

Cucumber links is still 404 for me

yea kinda crazy how long it's been down. anyone in contact with the owner?

I don't have an email on file for them and with the site down, I have no way of contacting the owner of Cucumber links

If they are till down in the morning, I'm pulling them from my submit list.

Not that it is any huge indicator, but, the error isn't a 404, it is a dns not found.

The domain is still active, hosted by nationalnet, but, their dns servers are not answering queries for cucumberlinks.com. I believe that to probably mean the worst that the domain was shut down and removed from nationalnet's dns.

I think John Cucumber also owns Bizarre Links, which is still up and running.

I couldn't find Bizarre Links. What's the URL? Is there a contact link there?

I think that Bizarre Links stopped the updates a couple of months ago...

Still. nothing . Does anyone have any suggestion for our freesites? I have about 100 sites with the Cucumber link on them. How long should we wait to start removing them?

How long do you think he would have waited to pull your links if he discovered your sites down or missing? That's your answer.

yeah i am gonna pull our trades down today, that's long enough for me

like I said in the previous post. I hope everything is ok. Freesite recips and hardlink trades don't mean anything if something is really wrong. Your Family, health and legal issues come first.

A thread saying "My site is down" would be nice

Yah. You're right UW. I'll wait till I get some info at least. Seems most of us are in the dark about whats going on with the site.

For now all I can do is hope for the best.

This may be a silly question but if I take cucumbers reciprocals off of my freesites could it cause problems with other LL’s that I have those same sites listed at ?

What I’m trying to say is don’t some LL’s have bots that scan for changes, I would think removing someones reciprocal might create a problem but if it’s a dead link should it matter? |loony|

Maybe it's worth it to you. But I know it certainly isn't worth my time to go back and remove recips from my freesites. Just on your new ones move forward without the recip on the page. That's what I'm doing at least.

Most linklist don't mind if you change a recip, as long as it is not theirs.

That's one of the reasons I use SSI to call my recip tables. I don't want surfers to get any 404's anywhere on my site. With SSI I can remove the recip link from each catagory and boom, it's gone from every site that had that recip. Maybe 20 min. to remove links from around 25-30 cat's leaving several thousand sites neat and tidy.
