Who Is Who

Hello all this a bit of a rant but it makes sense to me why are so many webmasters changing there nick the post one here submit using different nicks and emails every ?? Whats up with that ya think we dont read LOL Just remember your nick or name means allot in this biz as in your reputation and allowing the reviewers/owners to start trusting your work :)

stuveltje 2004-02-16 02:31 PM

mmmmmmm i am stuveltje on boards since i started bizz, but i am ingrid when i submit with the same email since i started.....would confuse me myself if i use different all the time, no good.

grzepa 2004-02-16 02:39 PM

Im grzepa here and everywhere except YNOTMASTERS when I post as mOre

CybrFire 2004-02-16 03:17 PM

Couldn't agree more...keep your same nick everywheres!

I agree w/MrMaryLou...keep your nick no matter where you go. Would you try and sign a differant name etc., to the IRS every year when you pay taxes?

Probebly not. Let's hope not anyways LOL.

Even though I made a pretty small and quiet splash into this biz, I want my nick and name to be remembered as an honest one. I don't like pissing people off and want to be treated with honesty and respect as I would treat everyone else here and elsewheres the same way.

My 2 cents to throw in too |waves|

xxxjay 2004-02-16 03:32 PM

If they are changing nicks, I can about gaurentee there is some attempt at deception involved.

Cleo 2004-02-16 03:35 PM

I'm always me, myself, and I.

Your nick is your reputation, build it up and guard it well.

stuveltje 2004-02-16 03:40 PM

i have to say most know me from  ask MMl, i drove him nuts with it.

Surfn 2004-02-16 04:16 PM

Damn |angry| now I have to choose which nick to use. |sad|

I remember Jim posting about signing up for the newsletter and I signed up woth 40 different nicks and still didn't win |zzzzzzzzz

As said....

multiple names
multiple emails
multiple personalities

all good reasons for blacklisting |pissed|

DD

amadman 2004-02-16 06:31 PM

I am amadman everywhere now and pretty much use one email for everything. But I have had two other nicks since being online. I changed them for diffent reasons but both names where clean when I dropped them.

Nickname 2004-02-16 06:42 PM

Im Nickname, has been for 4 years+
stupid "nickname" I really dont like that I started using it, it was just for fun in start, now I cant change......I submit with Nick, but I use different email, I usually use the email that is the same as the url im posting, do you LL gus/gals think I should be using same mail all the time?

amadman 2004-02-16 07:44 PM

Nickname.... I would say Yes.

Especially with a generic nick like yours |jester|

BobG 2004-02-17 05:55 AM

Ok. This is important I see. So I want to make it clear that I am BobG. I originally signed up to the board (2 weeks ago)as RobertoDinero because my names Roberto and dinero means money in Spanish and I thought it sounded kinda funny and catchy. Ive submitted before as "BBG" (as in BobG without the 'o') but all my friends call me BobG and thats who I am on the internet and in person. So BobGs it, for good. I'm BobG. BobG@robertodinero.com . Sorry for the confusion, not trying to trick anyone.

Hmm

Ramster 2004-02-17 08:39 AM

I am me. |waves|

AcidMaX 2004-02-17 08:41 AM

I agree always use the same username, I look at those on every submission to my site. One definitely has better odds if I remember the name that was used when submitted.

Pornopat 2004-02-17 08:48 AM

On the boards and everywhere I am Pornopat. When I submit I use the name Patrick. (well all but once)
I never thought about it. I geuss so many submitpages ask for name instead of nickname that I consistently started typung my real first name. I always use the same emailadres though. (well all but once)

finnbear 2004-02-17 09:45 AM

My wife calls me big bear, but that nick was already taken in another board when I started to post some years ago, so I became FinnBear.

Later I learned that here in Finland is another finnbear. That guy is leather BDSM gay who have his own homepage, lol! So, if you ever wander to that page, that's not me.

I use my nick name every time I submit sites. I can use my own name, I have nothing against that, but I'm sure LL owners know me better as FinnBear.

I had to change e-mail as you all know...luckily I hadn't submitted any sites to LLs for a long time, so I believe my e-mail change didn't got me any problems. Normal service from new ISP. They promised we can keep all old addys and then deleted them.

DD

In deed :)

Fonz 2004-02-17 10:15 AM

Altough it's not the most original nick, Fonz has been mine for 7 years now. (used SeanH. for a while but that sucked :) )

Tart 2004-02-17 12:06 PM

I've had mine for more then 2 years now and I've never seen anyone else with one even close :) A tart is part of the definition for my maiden name, so when I started working in adult it seemed fitting. My hubby thinks it's perfect 'cause I'm always smart talking him (he's got other terms for it too, but not so nice hehe). I think I used one other email to submit once or twice at the beginning, but I'm just too scattered to have more then my family email and my work email, and after finding the webmaster boards I learned it was a no-no anyway.

I know when I find submits from the same person using different handles/emails they go into the black hole never to be listed again. |pissed|

plateman 2004-02-17 01:16 PM

yea i dont even like my nick name but then nobody would know me

CelticTiger 2004-02-17 02:34 PM

I use my real name (Sean) when I submit. I normally use webmaster@whatever-domain-I-am-using.com.

I never thought of it in that a good name is a good tool to use. I'll give it a shot.

Cheers for the heads up MML!

vangend 2004-02-17 02:55 PM

When submitting I use Van Gend, my real name. Some boards will not accept my name in two words so I post as vangend on the boards.

In my house.. I'm not the one who does the answering |club|

so I didn't need it :D

dareutwo 2004-02-17 04:22 PM

I'm me I guess.. lol

But I seem to remember another board where I couldn't use it, so it was something like dareutwo133 or something like that.

Have always used the same email regardless of domain or site submitted.

As for the Nick - used to be a sales manager - and damn near every morning I'd set goals for the day... then say
I Dare You Two - make that goal
(remember the battery commercials with Robert Conrad?? - borrowed that line from him)

Oh, and yes, we all made money :)

magpie 2004-02-17 04:28 PM

Not that anyone prolly cares ..|couch|

but my nick has been a nickname from my grampa since I was little...it is also part of the name of my mainstream freelance biz, on my license plate and and used by my on any message board or chat room I'm in :)

Trev 2004-02-17 05:48 PM

I use Trev on all boards I'm on, except one that I signed up to a long time ago with my old chat name.

I haven't submitted anything yet, been working on other stuff.. but I'm glad the email thing came up.... i was gonna use trev@ whatever domain i was submitting from at the time.... I will stick to one.... if and when.

ChristyB 2004-03-03 01:38 PM

It took me a long time to spot this thread - lol

I've always use the same nick', ever since IRC chat was invented... it's not very inventive really - the B is 1st letter of my surname!

I have a partner (in life and in the biz)... her nick is Angel'.

When we started I did all our site submissions and then when I started the linklist Angel' took on the job of submitting our free sites...

We had a few ll owners didn't list our sites but we contacted by email and everything was resolved... we haven't had any problems anywhere since then - except with DD |sad|

All of my submissions to DD were listed but after Angel' took over you didn't list any new ones and although we emailed you several times we never did get a reply (understandable but frustrating - lol).

I don't know if you 'blacklisted us' because of the new nick'...
We use seperate PCs (duh) but we share a broadband connection through a hub so you may well have assumed it was me trying to pull a fast one!

After that we had to remove DD from our list of recips which is a little sad 'cause you were the 1st LL to ever list a site of ours |cry|

So DD - if you have angel4christyb.com or Angel' or ChristyB on your blacklist then I'd really really appreciate it if you'd consider taking us off :)

Surfn 2004-03-03 02:02 PM

ChristyB

I remember your nick on IRC from way back. I don't think we spoke though just new some of the same people in a couple of the rooms I use to visit.

Most of the time I was trying to keep my room operating with all the DOS attacks and funky posting bots. lol

ChristyB 2004-03-03 02:07 PM

lol - I used to enjoy it once upon a time - I spent months writing pop-ups and scripts for pirch in those days...

I wish I'd spent the time learning html instead, could've made a fortune :(

DangerDave 2004-03-03 05:03 PM

ChrisyB,

I will have a look as to why today..

What other domains do you use?

DD

mogart 2004-03-04 06:38 AM

amber438 2004-03-04 10:42 AM

Sorry DD, your days are my nights - lol
That's the only one we use for free sites :)

mrMagoo 2004-03-05 02:50 AM

I have the same nickname on all the boards that I'm on, which is only 5 or six.

When I submit I always use the same email and I use Ross for the nickname. It is my actual name.

dionysos 2004-03-05 04:18 AM

I have never used anything else than: dionysos

69pornlinks 2004-03-07 03:21 AM
