Well, small 'cause I just said hello to Papa in the GG&J chatroom.

I'm trying to get some work done but I keep finding myself checking the news to watch some of the preparations for tomorrow's inauguration. I know it's just my perspective on the ways of the world, but for me tomorrow will offer the kind of target-rich environment that's so appealing to so many terror and hate groups, before even considering all of the 'loner' possibilities.

Of course I'm hoping that nothing bad happens tomorrow (or at least nothing that we get to see on tv), and in part I know I'm watching because this is an historic event on many levels. I don't remember ever seeing the people of this country so interested and excited by the change from one democratically-elected president to another. The idea that there could be in neighborhood of two million people there in DC for the ceremony is both very scary and a bit awe-inspiring.

Well, I only meant to say 'good morning' but I guess something inspired me. And inspiration is something we can all, always, use more of in our lives.

Just as I finally feeling better I get to start a round of nauseating antibiotics for the surgery I'm having tomorrow, oh joy.

Am I the only one that thinks spending a record amount of money on an inauguration ceremony during one of the worst recessions that we have ever had sends the wrong message?

Watched Mulholland Drive last night. It was a very interesting movie until near the end where it just stops making any sense at all.

Every time I've looked out the window for the last 24 hours, it's been snowing. Yet somehow, there's only a couple of inches out there.

Wifey is working from home, so maybe I'll convince her to take me out to lunch today. That will be the excitement of my day. If not, then this will be the excitement of my day.

Morning all. Just getting some submits done, then is out to the garage to continue to work on getting ready for our garage sale this weekend. Finally got the garage cleaned out, and tables and shelfs set up yesterday, now we just have to transfer everything in the back yard to the garage and start marking prices. Oh joy. Glad we have a few more days to get ready.

Truly, I'm not worried so much about the hate group or terrorists. I'm more concerned over the professionals who might make it look like it was a hate or terror group (or just another lone gunman/bomber). The problem is that a man of peace is the enemy of all who prefer the wars to continue forever. There's an awful lot of money to be made in wars you know (and as you know).

I just realized I was unintentionally optimizing for the stems of 'inspire' ...and now I'm done.

Morning everyone. Up and drinking some really good home brewed coffee. Going to hopefully get a bunch of stuff done today. So far I'm doing good. If I can just keep the pace I'm at until lunch today will be a decent day.

The weather has been so nice. My lady has the day off so we are going to go out to lunch by the water and enjoy a little time in the middle of the day.

Yet another day I am sucked into the TV watching history being made. I think Wednesday will be the first real day I can get back to work for real in a long while, we need to learn how to shut this tv off but with all the history going on it is impossible, I just can't seem to do it.

Hello from Twiceshy's house of ill repute for eternally damned sinners and porn slingers! After spending a night in purgatory I've finally been released to post a word or two to say hello and I've come to the conclusion that TS is one smart cookie. I have learned more about blogs and blogging in the past day than I have picked up in a year of reading and if I can survive until we go home, I'm sure the trip will have been beneficial :)

Were going to be here another day and then we'll be heading home for some well deserved R&R and to heal any associated cuts n bruises that have resulted from the trip.

That was quite a long morning ...

It was odd flying home from Vegas on US Air yesterday.
Overall security did not seem any more tightened...EXCEPT for a Philly Flight and a Baltimore flight where they had homeland security teams (with electronics and dogs) doing a special check of the passengers and their carryons as they boarded

We got home from Vegas a couple hours ago. I didn't notice the extra security until I got home & read this thread. Thinking back, there was a dog at the Vegas airport, there was one at the plane when we got off in Buffalo & there was a Border patrol agent at the security line when we passed it coming from the plane...no doubt looking for Canadians |angry|

Vegas was a BLAST |bananna| I'll post a thread about it tomorrow, but aside from leaving there owing the Venetian Credit Department some money |couch| we had a great time.

I'm getting caught up on my mail & the board tonight. Back to normal tomorrow.

Morning everyone. Today sucks.

Wake up to find our water pump (which we need in order to get tap water) fried itself. Unfortunately getting it replaced is going to take about 4 days, and there's only 2 days of water left in the storage tank (if that).

Fuck.

Then I find that my gf has already made me my morning coffee (she knows how important that is), so I pour myself a full cup, settle at the laptop, take a sip and discover that one of my cats managed to piss in the fucking coffee.

Fuck me again.

So I make new coffee (hate the waste, given the waterpump being bust), only to discover we're out of sugar. Coffee without sugar is no good.

Fuuuuuuck!

Then I decide to call the guy that can get me a new pump, but before that check my bank balance. Oh, yeah, I totally forgot that this month my quarterly rent was due, which got auto-debited from my account, leaving me with enough to get through the month in comfort, but not enough to pay for a new pump.

God-damn mother-bleeping effing fucking cuntyballs.

Off to my 9-5 job to harass the accountant about money I'm owed to see if I can rescue this day.
