Really i mean that. Gays do pretty well for me, but i am looking towards shemale market also. Or am i late already and this niche is oversaturated? |
They are very different niches. So it is about your traffic.
|
I read in your sig that gays have the best ratio, so it must be true.
|
That would 100% depend on your traffic. Its like saying what promotes better Teen or MILF.
I find it easier to target shemale traffic but thats just me. |
Apparently a lot of guys who are into trannies will get really insulted if you call them gay... They consider themselves straight somehow, despite the fact that they love the cock.

Gay porn converts better than gays.
The gay community does not like the term "gays" - it's considered borderline derogatory by some. At the very least it shows you're not part of the community and that can make many people stay away from your sites. The gay market is huge, with many varied niches. For me, gay converts better than shemale, but that's because I have my niches down and I match my traffic and sites. This isn't to say that shemale won't convert just as well, or maybe even better, if you work the niches there properly. |

Honestly i just want to diversify a bit. To try something else. |

In my experience, trannies convert better... but that's my traffic.

The 2 niches are 100% different shemales don't consider themselves gay, and the surfers who like shemale porn don't either. You have to remember transgender actually refers to a place inbetween the sexes. On the other hand you also have crossdressers which often consider themselves different as well. As to which does better, I am biased but supply and demand dictates promoting shemales may be the winner.

My number one all time converting content was a 6 foot hot blonde shemale fucking a 3 foot dwarf. Surfers love strange unusual stuff.

On subject, good question. I imagine the "gay" fanbase is larger, but I'd think the shemale niche is underserved and maybe more enthusiastic. I've never had anyone tell me they were into "gay", but I've had a few tell me they were into asian ladyboys. I'd buy ladyboy porn before "gay" porn with just two normal looking guys doing sex stuff. But then again, I'm not "gay", just weird, so you should factor that into the equation. Also, what are we supposed to call gay people now? Hetero-challenged? Fucking people need to quit running from words. I'm a hick, redneck, nerd, cracker, sometimes geek, hillbilly. Call me any or all of them. |

(gays and lesbians have to come from someplace) |
When a friend of mine (who happens to be gay) called me a "breeder", I spit my drink out laughing!

Most porn terms or not PC. But porn isn't suppose to PC it's suppose to be tasteless and nasty. |thumb I have a lesbian friend who is boyish looking and wears big baggy clothes out to the clubs so sometimes the gay guys will hit on her thinking that she is a twink. Here favorite saying to them is "all I have is a bone and a hole so you aren't going to want what I have." I wouldn't call that PC but the expression on their faces is always priceless. |
this thread got really RAW :)

From a porn perspective, it's preferred that it be niche specific - lumping it as "gay" isn't technically accurate, anyhow, 'cos you might notice that "gay" is strictly dickly. Where do dykes and genderfuck fall in that binary system? Out in the world away from porn, "gay" encompasses LGBT and all the shades along that spectrum (current generational norms prefer the taking-it-back iterations of historically derogative terminology) - our industry doesn't, as a whole, provide for those gradations, and as such, it's preferred we just leave them the hell alone and let them tell us what the categories are. If I had my druthers, I'd go w/ who's fucking/ being fucked rather than pigeonhole something like a pretty fluid concept like sexuality. |
You can pigeonhole me as straight. However, being a libertarian, I dont care what people do with their bodies, and with very few exceptions who or what they do it with. For instance, dont fuck anyone underage or my dogs.
On the other hand, I don't want to give up my verbal shortcuts because it might offend someone. I may give them up for money on web sites, but not for free in general use because I don't want to be part of the decline of our American English language, including it's slang. When we start changing the meaning of words or deleting them outright willy-nilly because they piss someone off, we might just as well put tape over our mouths and shut the fuck. The intellectual and creative level will remain the same, and you wont get bugs in your teeth while riding your hog. |
But so Gay shemales do it with men or women?
Or perhaps both? |
I guess a shemale fucking a female would be straight porn. :D

Christ, I tend towards one of the foulest mouths I know. Someone did ask a question as to preferred nomenclature; I happened to know and feel confident in speaking up. Having said that, we DO change language willy-nilly. Language is a constantly evolving thing - particularly American English. It's a living language. 50 years ago, "gay" meant "cheerful and upbeat." "Faggot" meant "bundle of sticks" and "dyke" was something that held back water. Don't get your knickers in a twist. No one's asking you to stop using the word "gay." But if you want to market to that community, it helps to know where the collective consciousness is. Also, if you want to discuss the decline of the English language, I would strongly suggest looking into the differences of it's vs. its, as they likewise are not interchangeable. ^.^ |
Cousin It's family is the Its :)

Minority groups have taken words that they find offensive and pushed them into positive mainstream usage to reduce the level of stigma associated with it. For example, let's take the word queer, which used to be considered very offensive. After years of broadcasting Queer as Folk and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, plus the current Queer TV, it's no longer shocking to associate a gay person as being queer.
