Porn Luv Is Now OPEN For Your Gallery Submits
After a couple weeks of fooling around with the TGPX script, Just Robert & I are pleased as punch to announce that Porn Luv is now open for your gallery submits |banana|
The submit page is here: http://www.pornluv.com/llist/submit.php The partner request page is here: http://www.pornluv.com/llist/partner.php?r=request We're also still looking for link/traffic trades!! |
Thanks Greenie for making the announcement.
I've approved all partner requests in queue. If you don't get notification then PM me. It doesn't say it but you are allowed 3 subs a day. At this moment Naked Tan Lines is part of the Porn Luv network and there will be more sites added to this in the near future. These sites will be random pulls from the Porn Luv database so you can get extra listings with your approved submits. |
This morning I've approved all partner requests in queue.
If you don't get notification then PM me. |
Its looking good :) Submitted a few already, though it doesnt like my blog-galleries as they produce too many outbound links, but for normal galleries its great

Cheers - still experimenting with it, think it can be tweaked to TGPXs liking (testing on some of own TGPXs too)
|
Any way to let tgpx grab the thumb it wants? You are only site for us at this point that requires a custom cut thumb.

Maybe when |greenguy| has a moment he can put that option back to see if it does work |couch
Just as a note on this -- it does work, but it is very finicky on what host it works on. It is allergic to your host. I used to have it on mine as well, but then it decided it was no longer going to work there. I have noticed that other TGPx sites have gotten away from it. When I submitted to Outlaw TGP, they will do an auto-create for you, but I think it is best to make one and upload it.
Another way to do it is for the reviewer to make the thumb (which is very often what I do). |

If I am going to make the effort to submit, I am going to create and upload the thumb I want used. Letting the script auto crop a random thumb is not going give the best result.
|
I agree Toby!!! I've always made mine, even when I had to do 5 or 6 different ones for the various lists. It really only takes a very few moments to do it while you are creating the gallery/free site.
And JR, it depends on how many submitters you have that don't make their own. it may add one or two a day to what you already do. Most will want that bit of control. I did find some notes early on when we were working on this site, detailing what we had tested. I did try different browsers too. I wish I had a better answer for you. |
For us, the issue is we hand cut our thumbs for every gallery. Just not to JR's dimensions. I think being able to cut live as you submit is best. It may depend on the version of php being used as to whether server permits right? Also, I think the only person updating tgpx has since left the biz.

Now, boys.... the explanation was buried somewhere in a huge string of emails. It's actually one of the first problems we dealt with on the build. I think you were out of town, JR.
Just for the giggles, I tried submitting a site to Nymph (on TGPx). Hers also fails on grabbing an image from my picture gallery and cropping it. It seems to load the images, but you can't see anything or choose anything. As far as I know, everything else works on hers. The worst part? I can't see the gallery to go back and add the thumbnail to. When it fails to load the image, you have no option but to close the window out. Do that, and you can't even log to your partner account to fix it. My strong recommendation? Ask your submitters to make their thumbnails and upload. |
Are you guys using the latest version of tgpx posted to github by robert king?
I think the issue you describe has been fixed. There are other fixes on the informal forum as well. |

The amount of grief they give me for using XP, it would be nice if I could get back at them for using outdated scripts! (All my scripts are bang up to date, because I write them myself and update them as needed.) |couch

UPDATE: I found a fix, tested it on my own TGPx first. It worked. Then I made the same corrections to PornLuv, and submitted a gallery. It also worked there. That has been frustrating me for months, so I am glad I finally found an answer. It is there on the unofficial support forum, but you have to dig a bit. I missed it the first 100 or so times I looked. I am sure there are other fixes as well, so I am still interested in finding a link to the most corrent version. Thanks! |

As for Pagan, that's great as I just noticed the submit page had changed when doing some submits this morning. Yes, I still submit to PL thru that page to put my galleries with a PL recip on it in queue with others. |

We still use TGPx and LinkAdmin because they have been in use on our lists for several years. My install goes back to 2012 and I know Greenie's Link Admin is much older. (His Sunshine Lesbians is also older than mine). Now, if they had continued to update the link list/TGP programs there would be no issue. Some have stepped forward and helped us make the minor changes on TGPx for the newer operating systems and servers. I think the total changes I made to Porn Luv's master files covered less than 100 keystrokes over 5 different files so it is not seriously broken. Newer scripts are all directed at tubes, which we are not. TGPx can be cranky at times but it does work even in our "modern" environment. It is still much newer than XP, which came out in 2001. I bought my TGPx from the original developer in 2011 and it was current for its time.
I am not a programmer or coder, though I do write all my HTML by hand in Notepad and know my way around php. I don't pretend to be one either. Would I try to write a script like this? No. I know my limits. I want things to work within a reasonable time (like a week) without getting nasty notes from my host. Not all webhosts like to deal with these scripts and do put up obstacles like not letting you create databases or add users. We got around that part and learned to deal with the rest. Even with all the bumps, PornLuv was up and having galleries loaded in just about 2 weeks (including waiting on trouble tickets, 3 server moves, and research). Quote:

Get Porn Links has now been added to the Porn Luv network and all pages are random pull from database.
More site to be added soon, I hope :) |

And the only time I have ever had a script do really bad things it was a bought script. I had a "email your friends and tell them about this site" script on one of my non-adult sites. Because it was a commercially available script, someone had bought a copy and disassemble it to work out how to use it to send spam. They then set up their own program to spam people via my website, the host got spam complaints and, assuming it was me doing the spamming, disabled the entire domain. That finally put me off ever using bought scripts again. The extra work writing the script myself is worth it for the peace of mind in knowing that won't happen again. P.S. It is so long since we've had a two page thread, I did not see these posts until just now. Didn't think to look for page two! |

Heads Up
Was going to PM this, but not sure which one of you I should PM it to, so I'll post it here where you can both read it:
Cleaning up the "babes" page on ClitPass I came across a link exchange to getpornlinks.com/babes/. This is a non-existent page that probably got chucked out when you revamped the site. However when I clicked on it, instead of getting caught up and redirected to your index page (or whatever you do with 404s), I got sent to the server's "not found" message. You have probably got a hell of a lot of exchange links going to pages that disappeared during the revamp, not setting your 404 to your index page is costing you a lot of traffic. Setting a "catch all" should be easy, if your host is any good you can just set it in your control panel. And if your host is not that good, I'm told it is easy to do yourself (no idea how, I never had to learn as my host has that control panel thing, but I'm betting Cleo will know, she seems to be the most tech savvy round here). Incidentally G, normally I would offer to correct the link and leave it (as we have done with other sites). But as JR is involved in this site and he deliberately destroyed over 50% of the traffic to ClitPass I'd be stupid to say "Hey, in exchange for killing more than half of my traffic, why don't I send you some of what is left?" So sorry, not this one. |
Thanks for the heads up - will get it taken care of |shake|

One thing that hurt my sites badly was not doing regular daily updates as well as not actively submitting free sites or galleries. For 14 months, I sat in a classroom all day every day and didn't have time or energy to think about porn. Then there is the vertigo that keeps me from working at the computer full time. It seems to be taking a break right now fortunately. Still, my sites NEVER went offline, but they got stale. It took me a few more months to shake all that off and get back to work. Did I lose traffic because a few people went out of business or pulled a reciprocal hard link? I highly doubt it. *We* care about those things, but I really and truly doubt our visitors do. I believe I lost so much because of my inactivity more than anything else. I didn't have a tasty treat listed every day in the New Listings sections anywhere. Tommy always had the very best traffic, but I never had a hard link with him. My traffic from him was from my submits. I do believe PC also submitted sites to him - we all did. Trust me, if I could blame my network's downfall on anyone else, I would do that in a heartbeat. So, as I tell my husband, we can't change the past only learn from it. I decided my network gets at least 20 new listings daily, usually close to double that. I am trying to get my submits (anywhere) up to 4 a week outside my network and at least daily on my own. I figure by the end of the year, I will be back where I want to be. People will see that my network is actively growing and want to visit often. Clean -- Build -- Submit. Look forward Not Backward. |
Well said, Pagan!

I took over ClitPass and there were a lot of problems. (corrupt scripts being the worst). I was posting on this board about the problems I was having. Then one day the script totally fucked up and the site went 404 for a while. JR discovered this, and rather that PMing me about it, as you or I or any decent webmaster would do, he posted on this board telling everyone to remove their links to ClitPass. People listen to JR. Not only did exchange links go, but links on galleries too. Within 48 hours traffic had dropped by over 50%. You might think that is an "amazing coincidence", and JR just happened to speak the day before 50% of the world decided to stop surfing for free porn, but I doubt that strongly. It was a childish and vindictive act on JR's part to publicly post that. Particularly as he knew I was working on it. I can accept him not bothering to PM me to tell me the site was down, but to post a message telling people to rip out my recips was simply inexcusable. I would never do such a thing, and I doubt you would. And the result was, as I said, a drop of over 50% of the traffic in under 48 hours. The traffic has never recovered. So I ask you, you are currently struggling to get your site back up there again at the moment. How would you feel if one of us deliberately sabotaged your attempts? |
Actually, I was here when that all happened and did follow it. I didn't remove any of my links, including any of the interior ones that I had until AFTER you came back and had pretty serious scripting issues. Broken links or links that go to "dead" sites don't do anyone any good ever. When I choose to hard link to someone, it is because I believe their site is worthwhile for my visitors, not because I like them or anything else. If your site is not working month after month after month, you are no good to me at all. In fact, keeping your links up damages my reputation. I don't blame anyone here for removing links to a non-functional website. They can be restored at a later time. Who knew if you would ever come back???
Cleo, JR, and a few others removed links to mine when I didn't update regularly. I can't blame them for the exact same reason. You also forget this industry has gone through a lot of change in the last 2 years. People want instant porn and instant gratification. If your site doesn't deliver, they leave. Google also changes their rules for ranking almost as often as men change their underwear. THAT hurts a lot of us on a regular basis. (I had a PR6 shopping mall drop to 0 after I didn't have time to deal with it any more... and my joke site is slipping as well.) PC had an outstanding reputation for daily updates across his entire network. Most likely, the staleness of the site, if it was even up, hurt you just like it hurt me. My point was, you have limited time and energy to work with your sites (I am the same way). I could spend all those precious assets crying about the dropped traffic or... I could move on. I have chosen to move on. Those that had hard links to me and chose to remove them -- that's their business. Most of those sites are dead now anyway. Others that removed reciprocated interior links -- same thing. (And I had tnose on a number of sites). I am spending my time looking forward, not back. |
My point is not that her removed his links (he had every right to do that), but that he vindictively told everyone else to remove their's. There is a big difference. Yes, traffic is down all over, and I would have lost some traffic anyway. But that does not excuse JR deliberately crashing my traffic by telling other people to drop my links. That was just plain meanness.
|
vindictively? That's a strong word. Also, my memory is shot - can you post a link to the thread where he did this?
Then I shall make a ruling & it will be done with once & for all. After all, I am |buddy| around here! |couch
