How Often Should The Newsletter Go Out

I have been thinking about this for a long time. I just want your input about it.

Surfn 2004-05-03 09:34 AM

I voted for the Tues Thurs. There are only 2 votes and they are both the same. Is that what you prefer?

Jim 2004-05-03 09:39 AM

What do you mean Surfn?

Surfn 2004-05-03 09:57 AM

I'm open to whatever the majority decides. It makes me no difference. :)

milambur 2004-05-03 10:31 AM

once a month

Fonz 2004-05-03 10:33 AM

If it has the winning email text in it... 3 times a day :D

coy 2004-05-03 10:36 AM

Oh I'm for the once a week email myself :)

Great newsletters by the way... I'd read them even if there wasn't a slim chance of winning something.

Have a great Monday y'all |waves|

Greenguy 2004-05-03 10:49 AM

What happened to the "7 Days A Week" option? :D

Kezza 2004-05-03 11:00 AM

While I love you all dearly... I think once a week is more than enough... you actually have no news :(

Cleo 2004-05-03 11:11 AM

Newsletter, what newsletter, the board has a newsletter? :D

Twice a week seems good. I like it when the newsletter has a list of the most popular threads.

I think we should all pitch in and but Jim a giant tank of red ink. LOL

So you're saying that before you read today's newsletter, you already knew that we needed more NBA picks, that the newsletter email prize was up to $400, that Ramster & many other hate certain free sites, that AcidMax was looking for help with his free sites, that Pussy Cash gave prizes to it's top 3 webmasters, that Flash Cash is looking for idea on the new Mr Skin tour, that Jim was doing this poll, etc?

All these things you already knew? :D

stuveltje 2004-05-03 11:34 AM

Ones a week will be oke, twice i dont mind either, on this moment i am having a hard time to find my newletters because of all the spam shit i get so maybe 7 times a week will be better|violin| that way i cant overlook them |jester|

Kezza 2004-05-03 11:34 AM

ummm... yes... I read all that on the board.

I didnt mean to be rude at all... and I feel I just offended you. I just think once a week is enough to reiterate what has been said on the board... sorry i thought you wanted real opinions.

adamneve 2004-05-03 11:39 AM

i like the 3 times a week. i save all the emails and love the tips on there ;)

Tart 2004-05-03 11:54 AM

I like the 3 times a week as well, keeps me from missing anything. |bananna|

Jim 2004-05-03 12:01 PM

I am just going to stay out of this. We will let the numbers speak for themselves :)

vmp22 2004-05-03 12:16 PM

i picked the 2 times a week - tues and thurs... now onto picking the winning lotto numbers! :D

Greenguy 2004-05-03 12:20 PM

Kezza - by saying that we actually have no news, yes, you did offend me & I assume you offended Jim as well.

Remember - not everyone lives on the board like some of us do :D

Surfn 2004-05-03 12:32 PM

If anyone finds the newsletter of little or no value they can always opt out. :D

jon 2004-05-03 12:35 PM

Like everybody else, I get too much mail, so I think twice a week, tuesday & thursday, Gives me time to get over the weekend and set up for the next.
Kudos to you, I've yet to find any useless information in your newsletter.|pcsucks|

caringneo 2004-05-03 12:45 PM

I voted for one /week. But it will be nice if you send out newsletters to make special announcement nd also when there is hot discussions/news posted at the board.

Like, I came to about the pichunter offer thread through the news letter. Unfortunately, I got rejected though.

Like to see the final result of poll.

Neo

terry 2004-05-03 12:47 PM

I prefer once a week. I view the board several times a day everyday. A weekly recap sounds best. I have so much email filling my box everyday.. I'm really just looking for ways to reduce it |knockout|
Of course no matter how many I receive, I will always look at them all.
Keep it up!

Terry

tropica 2004-05-03 12:55 PM

I voted just once a week but if there is anything major occuring it would be nice to receive more. I like your newsletters!|smooch|

basschick 2004-05-03 02:38 PM

i couldn't care less about the NBA, so either once a week or when news actually happens sounds good to me.

mist 2004-05-03 03:28 PM

I think that twice a week is good, like Mondays and Fridays also you could maybe make one newsletter dedicated to a special theme, like graphics, promoting etc like twice a month or so, just like Jim’s tricks but a little more in-depth on the subject.

Opti 2004-05-03 03:38 PM

I scan through almost every newsletter.. but i am a bit like Kezza in I dont think it has enough news right now to justify multi weekly sends... That might be becasue I am not into the sport that has been at the top of most of them lately though.

I wouldnt mind it daily if it was worth opening.. for me that would be a mainly text email that just summarised the main active threads happening... any sponsor program changes like new sites and payout deals.. and linked to details of any important industry news that had happened over the previous 24 hours.. kind of like what luke ford did with gfy.

I would love it if someone did that sort of daily wrap of the 2 or 3 boards I am interested in..

Rictor 2004-05-03 04:31 PM

One time a week seems good to me.

I know you meant to say "If spooky has winning email text"

Twice a week is good I think. and you can have a "special" newsletter in case really big news comes out.

I have a life, it's just that I have a laptop with WiFi surgical implanted into my head. :D

Wow I really am a Mac head…

Bloodlust 2004-05-03 09:40 PM

I think once a week is good though I'd like to see the top 10 threads linked with a quick description of what it's about.

I usually don't have time to read the boards but I do like to keep up with what's hot and what's not.

dubb 2004-05-04 01:32 AM

I picked 3 Days a week because like adamneve I also like the tips and the main board topics that you give. Although I am not a poster I do read the boards alot and use what I get from it as well as the newsletter. I check my email everyday so it wouldnt be like its spam or anything where there all piled up. So keepum coming I say. |headbang|

ecchi 2004-05-04 08:54 AM

It depends what is in it. I voted 3 times a week, but that is for e-mails with useful information, i.e. the ones where "Jim's Tips and Tricks" contains useful information. For example the one that asked us to vote in this poll contained nothing "useful", although it was necessary. However if it had contained something in the "Jim's Tips and Tricks" section that was a tip, as well as the "request to vote" it would have been OK.

plateman 2004-05-04 06:13 PM

I voted for 2 times a week..

jvastine 2004-05-04 08:18 PM

I only seem to get less than half of the newsletters for some strange reason. My isp claims that they are not using any filters on the smtp servers, so I'm clueless here! :)

smitty 2004-05-05 12:45 AM

I too (like jvastine) only receive about half of the newsletters. I have cable isp thru Charter.net and they say "no filters" also.

Any ideas? Anyone? |noclue|

Jim 2004-05-05 10:53 AM

We never have problems sending newsletters. If you don't get them, it has got to be on your end.

We have decided to go with 2/week instead of 3. Of course if something important comes up, we will be sending out a special edition. I am going to close the poll.

Surfn 2004-05-05 10:56 AM

Jim

As many times as you have changed you mind on when to do the news letter over that past year I'm sure this won't be the last change. :D

Frank 2004-05-05 11:38 AM

Once a week sounds good to me :-)

Daremo 2004-05-05 11:57 AM

Frequency of newsletters

How about once a week? Perhaps every Monday. It seems that webmasters (and everyone else on the internet) have to wade through a mess of e-mail everyday, be it spam, newsletters, or anything else. Once a week should keep it down to a very managable level, and keep GGAJ in peoples minds while not overloading those poor minds with frustration!!

Jim 2004-05-05 02:01 PM

You guys did read that we decided on twice/week, right? :)
