PR Updated - looks like a lot of people lost a few points
JJ (0:00 AM) :

Pretty dramatic...
But when it's across the board like this, who knows what effect we can expect as far as traffic goes. And, I recall significant dips in the past, which were followed by record highs a few months afterwards. |
5!?!?!?!?!?!? Oh WTF! |banghead|
But like Bill said, this did happen a few months back & it was followed by LOR becoming a 7 for a week or so (and then back to 6 after that) |
This is nice ... I will get as much traffic as GG, Jay, Hoes, Penisbot etc from Google now...|jester|
- BML |
Mine just went back to the old PR/Backward Links...
Is this normal in an update ? - BML |
Oh crap :( pornlucky went down from 4 to 3, I was hoping to hit 5 soon and now that crap happened.
Lets have faith in what Bill and GG said. |
Oddly enough, the last time this happened was June 2003.
|
Did you write this down or are you half elephant ???
|
My Link Sites and TGPs stayed the same at 5's but damn a lot of the others did drop a spot. It seems maybe that the urls I have that don't change daily dropped like fake TGPs ect.

According my stats, all LL's lost around half of back links. :-(
|
XXXsuperlinks went down to a 4 but XXX-Adults remains a 5

All I can say is that if my two LL's have the same PR as Greenguy, Hoes, Penisbot, Tommys, etc... something must be really fucked up with Google |pcsucks|
|
Sure is a weird set of results...
I have two pages with identical internal backlinks. Page 1 has several high pr external backlinks (still showing) Page 2 has only one low pr external backlink Page 1 has lost 1 pr point - now pr3 Page 2 stayed the same - pr4 That's fucked up! Also seem to have lost backlinks on almost every page although my main page pr's haven't dropped! It sure does reek of May/June 2003!! |
backlinks from linklists not showing up
I am not seeing any of my backlinks that were added since april 25 from linklists jays, hoes, greenguy, penisbot. none of them are showing in my backlinks yet
|
Yeah...a lot of my other feeder sites dropped from 4 to 3.....so something large scale going on...

This may seem like a kind of noob question, but...how do you check backlinks anyway? |
Jay just type link:www.jays-xxx-links.com in google search bar or whatever url you want to check. You can also use this back link tool http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/, but with the way google is going who knows if there anywhere near the truth.
|
Could it be that G is finally starting to discount recip links? Since that's mainly what a LL is, seems like PR reduction and the back links vanishing would make sense.
Thoughts? |
The pr drop isn't just limited to lls.
|
If they did a massive sweep like last year where 50% of the domains lost 1 PR value, then that means all the PR4's that are linking to you that are now PR3's will not count towards your backlinks - that is, if I correctly remember the Google rumors that I hear from time to time :)
|
Booballistics is still 5 - and with more backwards links. Unfortunately half my backward links are now scamming Gay sites??? I just don't get it? |angry|
|
I just submitted to janes guide and that sites root index page has gone up to pr 7 and all the inside pages are pr 6
|
Jane's been a 7 for quite awhile now.
|
The pr3 links count they just dont show up when you check backlinks only pr4 show
|
Hi All,
Hate to ask a stupid question.. but is there a way I can find a pr without installing the toolbar? Thanks, Terry |
|
Shit
My TGP was PR5 now it's PR4, and I also lost many of backlinks.. |pissed| |

yeah I lost a number on all of my pages - but am just starting to get more SE traffic so I am happy, index was a 5 and all cats a 4
oh well pr isnt shit once you get to 5 you need a 4 or 5 to operate.. as far a the spiders go.. |
I've been reading over on WMW and it looks like the PR drop is not just limited to adult because it looks like mainstream sites have felt it as well.

I got this from alexandra search engine facts
PageRank is a system that helps Google to organize its search result pages. It used to be the heart of Google's ranking algorithms. Google explains PageRank as follows: "PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves 'important' weigh more heavily and help to make other pages 'important.' Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each time it conducts a search. [...]" The PageRank of a web site is displayed in a little green bar in the Google toolbar. The wider the green bar, the higher the PageRank of a web page. Every page of a web site has its own PageRank. Why all the hype? PageRank used to be so important that many webmasters only concentrated on getting a high PageRank without caring about other important aspects of their web site. Even today, many webmasters only want to link to web sites with a high PageRank and some webmasters even accept only links from web sites that have a high PageRank. However, a high PageRank does not mean much to your business. It's basically only a green line in a search engine toolbar that has little effect on your web site rankings. It doesn't mean that you'll get more visitors and it also doesn't mean that your web site is useful to your web site visitors. You can have top 10 Google rankings with a low PageRank Did Google drop the PageRank concept? Rumor has it that Google does not rely on PageRank anymore because it doesn't own the rights for it. Actually, the PageRank patent is granted to Stanford University. If Google continued to rely on PageRank, Stanford might get a large amount of the profit when Google goes public. For that reason, Google might have dropped the PageRank concept with its IPO plans. This is only speculation but it doesn't sound too incongruous. At least it seems that PageRank is now less important than it has been before. What does this mean to you and your web site? Don't care too much about Google PageRank. A high PageRank is nothing more than a line of green pixels in the Google toolbar. It doesn't mean that you'll get better search engine rankings and it doesn't mean that you'll get more visitors. If you want a successful web site, then build a useful web site for your visitors. While the PageRank number seems to become less important, links to your web site are still an important factor for high Google rankings. Get links from other web sites that are related to your site and provide links to other web sites that are useful to your visitors. That linking strategy will not only bring you targeted visitors from other sites, it will also result in a higher PageRank for your web site if that is important to you. In addition, optimize your web page content so that it makes sense to both your visitors and search engines. As explained in previous issues of our newsletter, optimized web pages get better search engine rankings than unoptimized pages. A web site with useful content, good design and good incoming links will bring you the best results. You'll get high rankings on search engines and - even more important - more customers and more sales. http://www.axandra.com/news/index.htm |
The backlinks seem to be the problem although I have to agree - the change in backlinks is back to an old number - almost like Google used to do just prior to a big update - this weekend?
LFS's backlinks dropped by more than 50% and the number they show is from 3 months ago - same with all internal pages Either they are gearing up an index/SERPs update or they didnt do a very good job indexing for a PR/backlinks update and had to revert to an old db. |

I was looking at at PR's on a few of my recent free sites yesterday & saw that some of them had 1, 2 or 3 already instead of the usual none or zero (even if I'm on the 3rd-8th page for my keyword on each - LOL) But it does seem as if "something" is going on.
I'll just be happy when I get my 6 back :D |
GG - Im seeing some PR changes as well - some of my inner pages on LFS went up to a 5 which is where they were a few weeks ago - but definitely seeing some SERPs moving as well :)
