Anyone getting listed at Hoes.com lately?

I'm not getting any confirmation emails and can't find my sites back in their directory.

Nickname 2010-12-13 07:34 AM

Got this email from him a couple of day's ago. He seems to be geting back to focusing on hoes at least.

"Hi, this is in regard to a trade I had with: xxxx
If you are currently trading with hoes.com, please disregard this email, otherwise, let's get to it!

Yes, I've been hiding. Lots of mainstream projects have kept my plate full, but it's time to focus some attention on hoes.com, my first love.

I let trading script problems go un-noticed for quite a long time. This note is to assure you that everything is back to 100%. I want our trades back!

Your domain is in the database and ready to receive hits. Please setup a hard link with any anchor text you wish pointing to the appropriate niche category at hoes.com. (when you signed up, you picked a matching category) Send 5 hits a day and you'll get a hard link on my site. If you have other sites to trade with, please go here: http://www.hoes.com/webmasters/ If you have questions, please reply or icq me: xxxx Let's start things over!

Sincerely,

Marc @ Hoes"

Nope.

Took them off my submit list a few weeks ago after not getting anything listed for a few months.

Voltar 2010-12-13 01:56 PM

he got caught up on a back log of sites and fixed a script error i pointed out to him about a month ago..then it stopped on the updates/submission reviews and listings...
so i pulled him from my submit routine a few days back...he never had huge traffic, but it was steady...if he gets it back up and caught up on my back submissions, i'd readd him back to my submit routines..

Bill 2010-12-13 06:44 PM

Now that you mention it, I have stopped getting approval letters.

Cleo 2010-12-13 08:29 PM

Looking through Hoes' categories I only see about a dozen free sites listed in each category and none of them were mine.

Voltar 2010-12-13 08:59 PM

i did the exact same thing cleo, and then stopped using them on thier links..

I remember old thread that marc mentioned something about sites rotations on hourly basis, but I won't give my hand or anything else for that.

I remember that too but I also remember there being a whole lot more free sites listed at a time and back then Hoes sent a pretty decent amount of traffic.

Not sure why but I never was able to sell the Movie Room and gave up some time ago.

Thats what my experience was. Sent 6000 hits had 1 sale and they charged back the next day. Took that as a hint and pulled them.

dunc 2010-12-14 04:22 AM

I had that... 9000 hits, 1 sale - charge back next day.... wierd

Yah that's weird.

I had a couple sales a few years ago that are still rebilling |thumb

RedCherry 2010-12-14 12:33 PM

I stopped submitting a long time ago. Sad, because I used to get really good traffic from him.

MovieRoom, I used to do really well with, and they rebilled forever. Then I went a very long time with no new sales, so pulled as many links as I could find. I am 1/24,700+ with them this year, which is really, really sad. Still get rebills though from last year.

RedCherry 2010-12-14 12:35 PM

I just looked after your letter NickName, because I KNOW I send at least 5 hits a day on the category trade I had with him, and see the site doesn't show up. Guess I'll pull that too.

Greenguy 2010-12-18 03:05 AM

It's a shame that these good sites are put on "auto pilot" or in the hands of a minion as opposed to the owner - they always seem to fail shortly after.

Marc's a good guy & I'd still trade links with him, but I can totally understand all your issues.

JustRobert 2010-12-18 11:43 AM

I will say that in doing checks that his cat pages are still rotating, not sure if its hourly, but I am seeing different results with a number of spot checks this past week.

Looks like he is not accepting/reviewing anyone at this moment because checking his teen cat, which was always filled with *new* sites, seems to be a rotation of his database. I even noticed a site I built a couple years back.

I still submit to him, secondary group that I only sub a few sites a week to, just in case he decides to review again.

Simon 2010-12-18 12:18 PM

I get traffic from a few categories on Hoes where I've submitted free sites, so I'd agree that the listings are rotating. I keep him on my recip table because I hope he's busy with the promised tune-up on MovieRoom.

Regarding MovieRoom, my traffic is converting 1:1,982 there for year-to-date.
In 2009 it was 1:840.
In 2008 it was 1:370.

But with good rebills I'm still getting 9+ cents per unique sent this year.

My problem is getting enough people to go there. The current promo tools are just worn out from being used for so long. I wish Marc would have given his affiliates the basic SmartFlash code to run locally along with new clips we could plug into the various ad size templates to keep things fresh. Or better yet, also let affiliates clip what they want from a library of promo clips.

That's like sending 10 hits & getting a $20.00 re-bill on the same day - $2.00/click?

The proper way to do it for revshare programs is to run ALL TIME numbers. This will give you a much more accurate per click number.

Take it from a guy that knows stats :D

Yeah, I was mostly making the point about the conversion ratios worsening each year.

My all-time numbers are at 8 cents/unique, and if I hadn't cut myself short what I meant to say was my 2008 numbers were 9 cents/unique but by 2009 the number went down to 7.5 cents each (counting both years) so getting back to 9 cents in 2010 was nice to see even if all-time since 2008 is 8 cents (which is still better than the 7.5 cents it was for 2008-2009 combined).

Better? :D

Greenguy 2010-12-18 03:38 PM

Perfect! You can now do stats with me :D

I just received an email from Marc regarding his LinkList. The main point is he requires a mass change of old backlinks pointing to hoes, he will reward you with a permanent link to one of your sites from Hoes.. Have you received that email too?

Cleo 2010-12-27 04:02 PM

Yeah I got that one right after I received notice that he had approved a site I submitted some time ago.

Good to see that he is back reviewing and I'm thinking of talking him up on his offer for a link back to my LL.

Bill 2010-12-27 05:27 PM

I've been saying for a while that fixed and required recip text is a big mistake for google, and I've suggested we should figure out a new system that changes that requirement.
