Monday July 31st (aka So Long July)

Morning! |waves|

Spent most of Saturday working & then when The Bitch got out of work, we went out with the ASSIL's family for a few cocktails.

Sunday, I spent about 1/2 the day with The Bitch over at my stepdaughter's setting up her house after she had the new floor put in last week. Then The Bitch spent the rest of the day & evening making sure her house was spotless because she's getting her dialysis port put in on Tuesday & needs the house to be as clean as possible for when she starts the in home dialysis later this week.

Today, things are back to normal I guess. Working now, have to pick up the ASSIL at 1, then an airport run to pick up my stepdaughter.

I had soooo hoped we would be moved by now. Instead, they are entering week 3 of a tiny bathroom renovation. They might be ready for tile tomorrow.. maybe. Then it should start to go a bit quicker, but I will be surprised if we are able to move our furniture out of here before the 21st or so. Then we have to clean this place up by the end of August. I can't wait. We were over there washing kitchen cabinets yesterday.

I hate moving with a absolute passion. This bit of having things in 3 different places is driving me nuts. This tiny house we are in is also pushing me over the edge. As we keep emptying it out, maybe things will be better. I have already been caught in having things at the new house that I needed, and not been able to describe what they were packed in. Sigh....

But work sounds like such a safe thing right now and I sure have lots of it to do. Better get back to it.

George Carlin had a joke about making people move as an alternative to jail time. ;)

My Dad had a theory that three moves were about the same as a fire. By the time you've moved three times, you have none of the stuff you had before.

I can absolutely agree with George Carlin, and a drawn out move (ie, moving a little each day for a month) is one of the harshest sentences of all. This is the 2nd time we have done it this way. I so much prefer the single shot - load the car or truck with everything you are taking, and do it in one shot. And I do have a lot of the same stuff as what I packed back in Texas 6 years ago. I have never had a chance to unpack it!!!
