And... please keep your holiday funk on your side. I don't want it, I don't need it. All I want to do is sleeeeeepppppp

Good Morning :)

It was 48F here this morning. I almost had to put on pants to go outside :D

Chemo day went well with my wife and she was even up to driving herself today to a doctor appointment. At the moment I have a nice quiet house and it sure is nice!

After she gets back we're going to look at appliances as my new job starting next week is gutting the kitchen. We've been putting this off for years, mainly because it will cost a chunk of change and I'm not sure the house is worth it but this house really needs it sooo I get to play demolition for a couple weeks. Then a designer will be brought in and we'll go from there.

That's all I got. Enjoy your Thursday!

Are you planning on eating out for the duration or do you have a different plan? We're looking at solutions for this issue, when we finally get to the point of doing the kitchen during the repair/renovation process.

When we had ours done, the stove was moved to the garage & the fridge was in the living room. It was a huge pain in the ass for 6 weeks!

With the wife not really cooking because of the chemo process and following surgery and radiation this really is the perfect time.

So we are doing something like Greenie. Move the fridge and microwave to a second living room and then add an induction burner so she can make the random soup or eggs. This takes care of probably 80 to 90% already with the rest being ordered out.

What I realized will be harder is that there will be no sink for washing so a trip to costco for a ton of paper plates/plastic ware is being added to the budget. We'll either add a wash bucket or go out to the detached garage where the laundry room is to use that sink for the few cooking items that will be used.

Unfortunately for us it will probably take 3 to 4 months, probably longer, for completion because I'm slow and the good designers/engineers plus remodel crews are super busy.

We're hoping that it takes about two weeks to pull the existing cabinets, hang new ones, install new appliances (already purchased and in garage), and install new counter tops.

We have two refrigerators, so will cut to just one in the laundry area during rebuild. Microwave meals, paper plates, coffee maker... hoping bathroom sink is adequate for the short term.

Too be honest, by the time we get to that point we may both be curled up in a corner in a fetal position muttering to ourselves.

We were already in seperate corners muttering AT each other yesterday afternoon. Well that only took 2 days of trying to finalize certain decisions to take advantage of end of year sales. So we decided it's better to put this off because we both realized her "chemo brain" has started to kick in now and it will only get worse. This would not be good during a major redo as one of us may die, and not from cancer. I've got other things to work on so it's better if we wait.

Wishing You Good Luck!
