Saturday January 27th (aka Half Life)

Morning! |waves|

I was born on 01/19/1971 - 0 days old
I met The Bitch on 07/24/1994 - 8,588 days old
Today is 01/27/2018 - 17,176 days old
I've spent half my life with the love of my life 💚

Yesterday was basically uneventful. After going to the chiro & then running errands while my back was screaming at me, I got a lot of work done, and then plopped my fat ass on the couch & watched The Fate of the Furious & I have to admit, while I'm not exactly a "Fast & The Furious" kinda guy, I really liked it! Most of the action was over-the-top, but not in a cheesy way. I actually recommend it |thumb

Before that, I watched Vice News on HBO as I do on a daily basis, and they talked about this Differentiation Detector app called Wehe (Apple, Android) that will run tests on apps thru your phone to see if your carrier is throttling you. I tried it last night, but I think their servers got a bit overloaded after being on the show, so I just fired it up again this morning. I'll post later & let you all know how Verizon is fairing (BTW: it's looking poorly)

Have a great weekend!

Last night, I began dicking with the submission script on Filthy Earl. Remember that guy? Well, I have no goddamn clue what I'm doing. It has been so long since I toyed with those scripts that I cannot figure out why they aren't working. |banghead| I would sort of like to reopen submissions on my link lists, but it may be a lot more work than what it's worth. Is there even a point to having link lists?

I had a lovely dinner of fried eggs and baked beans which was actually really good. I'm making my coffee right now (french press) and the dog is eating a bone on my bed. She really loves making a fucking mess on the bed. Cunt! |waves|

I'd hope so!
(actually, I'm basically a TGP these days - no one builds free sites anymore)

Pagan 2018-01-27 10:14 AM

I'm with Greenie on this. Galleries are all you are going to see and even then the number of submitters is small. I might possibly consider taking JR's advice and quitting one day, but i have too much time, energy, and even expense tied up in this to just stop. Still, we have a nice network of good quality going here, so... it is a case of quality over quantity.

I haven't run Smiling long enough to know yet, but I take submission via an email script. Atm I have 4 submitters, 1 who occasionally sends me Free Sites. The rest sends galleries.
I only do galleries myself as well.

If you're using LinkAdmin, there are a few small changes needed to make it work on todays servers. I made my run eventually, but I couldn't bother to get the submission script work in the end.

I also focus on TGPs, but I like fiddling with Smiling :)

I would submit (galleries)

Where are you hosted? Mojo got mine running perfectly when they upgraded my server with a shiny new hamster |thumb

M3 server. I am very pleased with them.

My lists had accepted galleries for years before you newbies started accepting them. |waves|

I pretty much accepted everything. Also, they would need to run on auto pilot again. You know I'm not going to put any effort into reviewing. :D If I can actually get them functioning, it would be a non-recip, auto listing deal. The moment you click "submit," you're listed. I had Earl and Whoring Wives running that way at the end. Now, the submission script, which is custom, is just dickered.

No, LOR started by Greenie stealng links from everythwere, I mean searching and finding links he could post |lol|

That's how many started back then, there were no submitters. Just people with "lists" that needed to find links to post to. TheHun, Tommy, I think most everyone did that to build their sites. I remember Tommy saying he did it for fun until the traffic started flying in like crazy.

Good morning all |waves|

Crashed out early last night at 11pm like a loser |loony| after spending a good part of the day at AVN and gambling before a couple of meetings at 7 and 8. Went to dinner and went back to room to change and relax and thought fuck this, I'm going to bed instead of drinking lol. I was up $100 on the blackjack tables, first time I gambled since being here so yah me |thumb

Leaving Las Vegas tonight after the show, likely 5-6pm. Driving to LA with a friend then I'm in LA for a couple of weeks. Hello |sun

Ramster's correct! |thumb I'd go searching for porn & if I found a site I liked, I put it on LOR. Then I'd email the owner & let him know I linked to him & ask for him to link back. I did it all by hand on notepad until Richard gave me a copy of his Link Admin to test it before he started selling it.

It does still look like I coded it on notepad |pokefun||greenguy|

Pagan 2018-01-28 08:41 AM

So it isn't all screaming pictures and flashy stuff. It may look old school but it is legible and puts the focus on the content. And yes, I do remember those old days - I was just starting out. Sigh.. wonderful old times.

Seriously though, I did HND all by hand in notepad for the first couple of years, taking submits by email. Then I got brave and played with TGPx. I still take them by email if people prefer. Nobody prefers these days.

I mostly use Namo 5.5 (which I have if anyone wants) because it's WYSIWYG & great for making tables, but I still often edit the source by hand or open an .html file in Textpad because it's easy & I know how to do it :)

Any texteditor to recommend? One of the features I use the most is search and replace, so it should have that

We use
Notepad++ for a lot of stuff. Very helpful.

I use TextPad & I have no problems with it at all, but since you mentioned Search & Replace, while TextPad will do that for a single line of coding, for multiple lines of coding, I use Search and Replace for Windows by Funduc |thumb
