Thursday January 10 (aka Fucking Windows!)

Morning! |waves|

At 5:15 PM Windows needed to update, so I restarted it & went to eat. At 6:15 PM I came back & it was at 19% |facepalm| So I get on this morning & there's a notification from 9:51 PM that Windows needs to restart & will do so automatically outside of my Active Hours. I look at my Active Hours to see they are (mysteriously) set for 8 AM to 5 PM |facepalm| So I'm not restarting this POS until...

Have to go to my stepdaughters for her dialysis delivery between 9:30 & 12:30, so getting my mom up & moving at 8:30, which is when I'll restart this |pcsucks|

Good morning everyone |coffee

Work all day today for me, Ended up going to dinner last night with friends who's wife's birthday it was so I fucked off at 5pm. I see my Ottawa Senators |hockey| won in OT last night in Anaheim to snap their losing streak |thumb

I love windows, only because Macs are too fucking expensive, but their constant restarting is a pain in the ass |angry|

Afternoon |waves|

Amazing weather today. My plan was to hit the pool for some swimming, but instead my |dog and I walked for two hours in beautiful sunlight.

Overslept today, but consider how yesterday turned out, I probably needed it. I've been able to do what I planned to do, but nothing more than that. I just downloaded Fahrenheit, to see Moore's take on tRUMP.

Relax for the remainer of the day

Enjoy your Thursday

My desktop PC, which is still on the camper in storage in Barstow, uses Windows 10. (Assuming it hasn't been stolen.) If I am ever able to get back to my camper, I'm sure it will require days of updates. I bought this big, used 17" Dell laptop on eBay for cheap. It was advertised as having no OS, so I planned to install Lubuntu on it. When it arrived, it had a fresh install of Windows 7 and it has been the best little computer I have ever had in a long time. |loony|

Do they still update 7? I thought they've stopped that. :)

They do! They are all tiny updates, obviously. Not the big ones that Greenie manages to fuck up. :D

Afternoon. |coffee

I dual boot Ubuntu Linux and Windows 10. I almost never go into Windows 10 but had to today. Funny, when I went to exit it just continually said "Restarting". I just forced a shutdown.

Linux, updates take a couple of minutes and I don't even have a virus checker on the system.

By the way, January 14, 2020 is the end of life for Windows 7.

Just have to tell;

My latest girlfriend arrived today.
It's probably way to obvious, but I'll name her Pauline. Seriously, her name can't be anything else?

I just had to take a testrun and I ended up playing for an hour.
(Which means I can't play for a few days ... |lol||lol|)

My Windows 10 was fine this morning before we left way before sunrise for Helsinki. I did shut it down, thankfully, as we came home to erratic power. It has flipped on and off a couple of times now. I am going to try to get something accomplished today - if the power will stay on!

After the mega-update, Skype moved from my Taskbar to the System Tray & was hidden. I opened it & was logged in. I went to the Start Menu & pinned it to my Taskbar LIKE I FUCKING HAD IT. This was early Thursday.

I just went to send Ramster a message, so I click on the icon on my Taskbar...it's the old version of Skype that MS decided worked too well for us to use |facepalm| So I go to the System Tray & click the icon...Ramster sent me a message yesterday afternoon. No notification. No little 1 in a circle to let me know there's a message in there. I HATE FUCKING WINDOWS!!! |angry|

I just opened the calculator for the 1st time since the update. It's default size is now 1202x934 |violin|

Greenguy 2019-01-12 08:44 AM

It's also asking "How would you like to open this file?" for everything that isn't defaulting to a Windows program |banghead|

I've read online there are still a couple of oddball ways to upgrade to Win 10.

jollyhumper 2019-01-12 09:16 AM

What version of 10 are we talking about?

I have 10Pro and the update yesterday went pretty fast.
