Duplicating pages
 

hello there people...

here is the thing - I have this blog for few years now (boobster.net/blog), and few months ago I moved it to a new domain (boobsternewscenter.com)... now, I know what Google thinks about duplicating pages like that, and when I do some keyword search there, only boobster.net/blog pages are coming up, and boobsternewscenter.com is ignored (as expected).. now, I cant shut down the old blog, couse of all the bookmarkers and SE traffic, but I would like to have this new one as #1 for Google.. so, how to keep the old URLs active, and have the new ones being "SE friendly"?! .. hope I didnt confuse you there too much... :)
so, anyone have any ideas on how could/should I do that!? ...

If it were me, I would 301 redirect all the pages on the old blog to the matching pages on the new blog via htaccess. Then pull the old blog.

If you want to keep them both live, I have no idea.

well, the problem is that there are xy,000 posts over there already, and that seems impossible to do... or do u know of some easier, automatic way?

boobster ... IF (big if) you used the exact same structure for your directories and the same page names, you can use a 301 redirect which will take all requests for pages at the old location and send the surfers to the exact same page on the new domain.

yeah, that IF is way to big... Im afraid thats not the case.. but, thanx for trying to help...

btw, anyone knows redirecting only my blog index page with 301 would help at all!?

Boobster, since you want to keep the old blog alive, 301 redirect is off the table. Duplicating content is also a no-no. It won't lead to a penalty but it will mean duplicated content on your new domain will probably be filtered out due to lower PageRank.

My advice: Put new content on your new blog.

Halfdeck - well, thats not an option.. but thanx for trying to help.. think I'll just try to put one single 301 for all the blog pages @ boobster.net/blog, and see how google and surfers feel about that..

If you do that, Google will drop the old URLs eventually.

people, looks like I fixed the thing with adding this line to my .htaccess:

Redirect 301 /blog http://www.boobsternewscenter.com

all the posts are redirected to the matching page on new domains, and it looks to me that that's it.. anyone see anything wrong about this!?..
