FTP Suggestions
When my PC died a couple months back, the FTP I was using was no longer supported, so I switched to Core FTP because it was free, but it's just annoying me to no end, so looking for suggestions on what I can start using instead.

Filezilla |thumb

I use Filezilla Pro and WS FTP 12 (the latter is old habit)
|
That's 2 for Filezilla - is it free?
|
Filezilla is free - theres a cheap pro version, only reason to grab that is if you want to be able to ftp directly to Google Drive/Dropbox and such things...the "classic ftp" is exactly the same in the free version
|
Filezilla, used it for years. Yes, it's free :)

Gonna give this a shot now. Please be on hand to answer newbie questions :D

This FileZilla seems pretty sweet |thumb
But I do have one very newbieish question: How do you start to transfer files? Meaning that I'm used to clicking an arrow/button to start the transfer. I did figure out that you can right click & start it that way or drag & drop, just wondering if I'm missing the arrow/button that I'm used to :) |

THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M USED TO!!! |angry|

Ok.
http://thumbs2.imagebam.com/59/ab/a1...1174237134.jpg How about marking the file, right-click and choose Upload? Or, if you're advanced, add files to the queue and when you're done, CTRL+P? |scared| |couch| J|waves|lly |

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing it |shake

I do have a legit question: Can you upload files to 2 servers at the same time?
Example: Right now I'm uploading videos to one server & there's hours remaining before it's finished. I went to upload a text file to another server, and it put it at the bottom of the Queued Files list, so I assume it's going to wait until all the movies are done before I uploads my itty bitty teenie weenie text file? |
...and how do I shorten the length of the info it shows in the tab for each session? They all show the name I gave it, the FTP username, and the host. I'd like to just have the name.
I did look in their Wiki, but |huh |

If you use the Site Manager (icon right below "file") you can connect to several servers, you'll get an option to choose if you want to close current window and reconnect or make a new connection. Info on Tab I haven't been bothered with finding out. :( Maybe you can connect to several through typing into fields too, dunno. Jolly |

(damn board only allowing 1 attachment per post) The D files are the vids, the C files are just text files I need to upload. Am I missing something? |
Can't you just open a separate instance of FileZilla?
I seem to remember each instance runs a different queue |
I don't know |huh Like I said, the last one I had would do 2 (at least) at the same time. I will try that when I'm not uploading hours & hours of videos where I'd |facepalm| if doing that caused it to crash :D
|
In WS FTP you can with no hassle ... in Filezilla i just set max simultanious to 10 and it does them one after another, havent figured out how to split it so by session

This is probably a rare occurrence for me that just happened to be the day I started using the program |shake
I was pretty sure it was possible, not so sure anymore.
It's been a while since I've done simultaneously uploads like that. Jolly |
