Seriously, it probably depends on someone giving our goalkeeper a good kicking. That goal he "gave" to USA was unforgivable, I could have done better, and I'm fat, old, out of condition, and haven't played a single game of football in over 30 years!

I wouldn't know who has the biggest chance, there are 6-7 teams that could win it so I picked "less than 25%".
Ok the goalkeeper had some bad luck but then again, England is in an "easy" group so that goal shouldn't be fatal.
Like some British reporter said: "This is the best group since the beatles" :)

Yeah, but the England team is famous for it's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. And whereas we can beat a good team, it would not surprise me to see us loose 7-0 to a totally crap team!

I mean take that fucking US goal for example, converting an easy win into an embarrassing draw.

On another hand, the midfield and the strikers are crazy. I hope Lampard and Gerrard shall find a way to get along together on the pitch. If they do, Rooney shall have fine passes to score plenty of goals. |loony|

Probably the most boring football match in the history of international games. I missed the end, because I fell asleep during the second half! At least the Royal Family represented all of England, the camera occasionally fell on Prince William and Prince Harry (future king of England and his brother), and they both looked throughly pissed off with the team.

In my first post I said you needed an option in your poll for 100%, two games in and I now think you need an option for 0%.

England are loading too much of their "system of play" upon Rooney. It's a mistake to hang the whole team off one player, and it's easy for the opposition to disrupt this system by heavily marking Rooney.

Steven Gerrard is being played out of position, when he should be sitting just behind Rooney. Joe Cole should be on the left wing, not Gerrard.

Fabio Capello's religious 4-4-2 isn't helping things IMO. But I was impressed with Heskey, although he is a relic of the "long ball" method of play, and we don't have David Beckham to give him service.

England can't pass the ball like Spain and when Rooney has a bad game, England have a bad game.

If Fabio puts Joe Cole on the left wing and moves Gerrard behind Rooney, then you have three goal scoring threats free to wander, and then the opposition has a way bigger defensive job on their hands.

If the team sheet on Wednesday shows the same old team that played Algeria, then I'm gonna take the dog for a walk, because it will be too painful to watch.

There was a film a few years back, a comedy about an England manager who was crap and kept loosing games. One of the running jokes was that he kept using the 4-4-2. It's like Capello saw that film and thought "I want to be just like that (crap) manager"!

I can't understand Capello. He's a great manager, but he's gotta wake up to the fact that his system has been rumbled.

It seems that nothing is too much trouble to accommodate Rooney - they even included Heskey as Rooney allegedly likes to play with him.

But since Gerrard has scored 100% of the goals for England in this tournament so far, then perhaps Capello should think about accommodating him by placing him in the position that he plays for Liverpool.

I don't think so.. .this yeah is gonna be a surprise
