How to capture webpage images

Does anyone know how to automate webpage screen captures?

I mean like those "Traffic Magnet" emails that used to come all the time.. that had a small image of your website along with their sales blurb.

I got hundreds fo them with images of all sorts of urls.. so it had to be automated.. anyone know how?

I wrote some software to do that.
You paste in a list of URLs, it does all the screen caps.
Then if desired you can use my ReNamer to rename the images.

PayPal me $20 at support@webmastersguide.com or ePassPorte at
raymor@epassporte.com and I'll send you a download link.

http://www.netvisualize.com/ also does what your asking, plus a few extra things - it's meant as a program to organize your bookmarks, but you can edit the html page it puts out quite easily.

You could also try Screen Hunter 4.0 Free.

no aff

It will allow you to take screen captures of anything on screen.

thats for the suggestions everyone!

Sounds like raymor might have what I want.. does this run on a linux server raymor. or are you talking about a windows desktop tool?

The first is what I actually want.. the second will work though.

The one I mentioned is Winblows based.
I could do it server side, but not for $20 {8~)

Damn Ray, are you still alive?
I have you in my ICQ list since 1996 when you set me up with a hosting account :)
Took a lot of stuff from your download page since then :D

Howdy Fonz!
Good to hear from you again.
Yeah, I'm still here, still doing tech stuff to
help webmasters like you, still at the same
ICQ and email address. Nowadays I'm probably
best known for Strongbox:

What have you been up to?

Ray, you really do need to get in contact with me

Opti 2004-05-04 07:55 PM

If anyone else needs to do this sort of screen capture task on lots of sites... Make sure you send Ray 20 bucks and get a copy of his tool... he ended up having to dick around re-writing bits so it worked for me how I wanted... so he probably needs a few more $20 orders to make it worth his while now ;-)

raymor 2004-05-04 08:32 PM

Chop I'm working on your stufff now. I've ICQed you.
I wanted to add automatic data file rotation to the
Strongbox deluxe hit-by-hit reports and a few other
things so that you'd get the very best possible system.

wget

If you just want to mirror the site [not get a single screen capture], I recommend wget. [On *nix, or Windoze w/ cygwin.]

For instructions, see: man wget

(Not to be confused with wget man...)
