Rotating Links

Do you rotate links on your link list or no? If so do you see improvements with your conversions? What about a decline etc? I am just curious as I just added that to my script so now I can do alphabetical or a random letter in the alphabet, ie., it would do like m-z then a-l

I was just worried about it screwing up my paysite conversions and such, and was curious if you think it helped/hindered or everything was status quo?

I am glad you mentioned that I been wanting to do that before I refresh my pages the last couple of reviews - I look at my stats to see if it needs it..

We rotate by letter... starting on a different letter each day. I dont think it effects conversions at all but is certainly a fairer system for submitted free sites

I rotate by letter in reverse order every day - so going by your example, I list them m-a, z-l

I think it makes things fair for everyone - back when I was just listing them z-a I got a shitload of "Zak's Hardcore House" type submits that just made things very unfair.

Yeah I definitely think it makes it fair especially now that I am getting more traffic to the site. Do you notice any declines in sales on certain days because of the alphabetical listing? Do you also order your paysites like that or just the freesites?

I set up a crontab to rotate my links. They are rotated ever 30 minutes.

I think it'd be way to hard to figure out if there is a decline or increase in sales based ont he rotation, but 26 letters int he alphabet & 28-31 days in the month probably keeps things on an even scale :)

And everything is rotated the same - free, avs & pay sites.

Cool thanks for the info everyone, was just curious if I was going to shoot myself in the foot. I am now rotating my links on my site as well.

Rotating is much more fair for submitters and it prevents webmasters from submitting sites always beginning with A.

I have a cool little javascript that a friend wrote that rotates links everytime someone hits our resource pages. (Some of them)
