Why didn't the US send a baseball team to the Olympics?
 

Just wondering if there was a reason?

Yeah, that's what I read. That some of the players had great-grandparents that were Greek and they were allowed to play for the team. I understand that if there are people not yet US citizens playing for another country but...it seems that you need to draw the line somewhere. I would think citizenship would be a good line in the sand.

they got an automactic spot in all of the team sports, because they are the host country.... but not many there know how to play the game at all, let alone on an olympic level. They didn't want to look 'foolish' so they went in search..................

Congrats on the silver medal DD, and they really blew that call... I saw that it bounced off the wall in the live play.... don't know what the ump was looking at

Yeah, there have been some unbelievable judging/umpiring decisions in lots of events at these Olympics...

We are happy either way.. best Olympics ever for the Aussies..
