Music from thrillho
Hi all,
When not posting pics of naked chicks on the web, I do some home recording--I've had a couple of songs used in low-budget films, shorts, etc. I just put up a page with some mp3s of a few songs for a friend to download, and I thought I'd post a link here for anyone who's got a little time to kill. Hope you like 'em! http://www.smutmanor.com/songs.htm Lee/thrillho |
I'm on a crappy dial-up connection and I've twice tried to download a song but so far no success.
But I'll keep trying .... |
Sounds great thrillho - lots of good influences in there too - I do some stuff with MIDI but not ready to post it yet :) been playing with the latest version of Sonar Producer to bring my recordings up to snuff
|
Thanks! I've messed around a little with MIDI, but, like most programming stuff, it confuses the hell out of me. So this stuff is all just live guitar, bass, and vocals recorded into an eight-track, converted into wave files in WavLab, and mixed in Nuendo (drums are loops from AcidPro, except on "You Said"--just hit a rhythm button on my casio keyboard and pressed "record").
Sure do appreciate you giving it a listen! ps--as to influences, can you tell I was listening to a lot of the Pixies when I did "Anxiety"? LOL |
Actually I thought I heard some Joe Satriani influence on some guitar work :)
|
Wow, hadn't thought of that as an influence, but I did listen to Surfing with the Alien a lot during college--thanks!
|
Dood, these are cool :)
I have a few of my own, but the production is ass, for serious and it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.|violin| |

lol yah man, I was listening to some tapes (TAPES!) the other day of when I was living in KC and LA. Man old school stuff... cracks me up. It's fun to listen though, and when I hear myself play I get a bit verklempt!

Three song titles from my high school punk band's ouvre:
1. Eat My Flesh 2. I Shot the Mailman 3. I'm John Hinkley For Your Love I'm so simultaneously embarassed and proud! |
You from LA? Listen to The Minutemen?
|
Grew up in Dallas, listening mainly to Bowie, Husker Du, X, and Elvis Costello. Lived in L.A. (where I discovered the world's most kick-ass live band, Redd Kross, and became more aware of the late D Boon and Mike Watt) from 1991 until about two months ago, when I moved back to Texas.
|
Yah man, D was serious. I loved his chops. Reminds me of listening to Joe Strummer or Mick Jones, only he'd kick into some wild solo! Great stuff. Does Red Kross have any live music out there to check out? I love live music, followed the dead back in the 80's for a while :)

Do this> Play Anxiety in windows media player with the visualiztion set on ambience:water, full screen. Put your feet up on your desk and stare at the screen. That was the best 2 minutes I'm going to have today.
Good stuff, Thrillho |
