Auto Gallery SQL - have you ever needed to do this...

do you use the Auto Gallery SQL script ??

what does one need to do in advance before moving a site with the Auto Gallery SQL script from one server to another ??

I've moved one from a host to another host and the structure is correct etc... but the admin window isn't allowing my username and password to gain access...

was there somewhere inside the script that I needed to change some sort or permissions or something...

are there any hidden files host one would have had operating the script that I wasn't able to see via FTP ??

I didn't originally install the script...

if you'd prefer to respond via PM or eMail, that'd be fine as well...

prefer PM (here) over eMail

thanks...

There is a lot more to it then just copying the files over.

Server paths may be different

You will need to set permissions on all the files and directories.

You need to set up MySQL and be sure to give it the same User/ID so that the admin can talk to it.

It may be easier to just do an install after you restore your MySQL database, but you will need to setup all your templates again.

if clicking the restore function in the admin didn't work
to bring the db in...

is there anything else I can do to preserve that db ??

Did you do a backup of the database on your old server first? Is this what you are trying to restore from? Did you setup a new MySQL account on the new server for the admin to restore to?

Did you upload it to the server as plain text?

You may want to login to their owners section and go to the board that they run.
