Things come in threes and here comes Ivan

Fuck I still haven't got the tree out of my roof and here comes Ivan. :(
http://weather.sun-sentinel.com/trop...0409_5day.html

I went over and bought a couple of electric lanterns yesterday. I just love camping out in my own home, not.

Hopefully the replacement battery for my large UPS will arrive before the storm hits. Guess I should have just left the storm shutters up.

MrMaryLou 2004-09-09 08:28 AM

Thats some scary stuff Cleo some how I think there are allot of Fla folks thinking about moving north :(

Cleo 2004-09-09 08:47 AM

They just announced closing of schools in the Keys and it looks like they are going to start evacuating the Keys. :(

Not sure how much good going north will do. Some of my clients went up to the Carolinas to ride out the last hurricane and they are now trapped up there by flooding unable to get back to south Florida.

I've lived here since 1969, this is unfuckenbelievable!!!

I hope I still have a house to remodel if Ivan hits. :(

GunnCat 2004-09-09 08:50 AM

I heard that top winds reported by the storm planes were 220 mph. I hope this thing moves well out of the way of anything.

GunnCat 2004-09-09 09:16 AM

Looks like it's forcast to go right through SE Fla. I just got ahold of my friend who moved to Fla last year and he, the wife and the mother-in-law all went to New Orleans for Frances.

Cleo 2004-09-09 09:31 AM

They just announced mandatory evacuation of the Keys.

Still too early to know if it will hit Fort Lauderdale but it is sure looking bad.

Surfn 2004-09-09 09:37 AM

Time to get out the surf board again :)

jennym 2004-09-09 09:41 AM

That sucks for y'all. |sad| Good luck to all Fla. folks.

I really like this site to track hurricanes.
http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

It has the tracking map, 5 day forcast, satellite map, and computer models forcast.

Fonz 2004-09-09 09:55 AM

That sounds scary indeed. I'm glad I ain't there anymore.

Cleo 2004-09-09 09:56 AM

I think all the weather maps pretty much pull from the same info.

Just got off the phone with my insurance company and they said to go ahead a remove the tree from my roof but keep all the pieces. This tree is bigger then my whole house and I asked them where I was suppose to store this. Then they said that someone would be here within 24 hours. LOL

I can't even begin to imagine what the people in northern Florida are going through as many of them still don't even have electric yet.

tiny 2004-09-09 10:37 AM

Man I feel for you folks down there this is insane.
They said just now on WC its a cat 5 ,think its time to take a vacation north or west. anywhere but there

mrmobious 2004-09-09 10:49 AM

I've got the hurricane shutters up...I've got a wet suit, a quart of vodka and I know where Cleo lives...

Now, if she'll just leave that tree in place, I've got somewhere to hunker down and ride this puppy out...|rasta|

PLEASE |buddy| Please let Ivan go out to sea.

digifan 2004-09-09 11:03 AM

Cleo,

you are having a terrible summer in Fla this year.. thinking of you,

Cleo 2004-09-09 11:47 AM

I'm pretty excited about remodeling my house. I've wanted a new kitchen and bathrooms for a very long time.

This place Action home improvement is only a few blocks from my house and has been around a long time so I went over to talk to them. That whole building complex is still without power so naturally no one is open.

This is just a fucking mess. :(

Linkster 2004-09-09 11:53 AM

Cleo - just talked to a friend of mine from Ft Pierce - she says that the bridge going over to the island was washed away at the north end - the middle bridge they were able to get over to her house - but cant get to work because so many bridges are out - sounds real bad out there

Hopefully the people in Jamaica can make it through this - Grenada took a huge hit - just saw pics from a flyover and the whole island looks like every house there was demolished-and it was weaker then

Torn Rose 2004-09-09 12:48 PM

Sorry Cleo, Rubber Russ told me it’s my fault since I been here this is the 3rd hurricane, so he told me to pack up and move…..

CNN just said it has 210 MPH winds....

Damn, I’m thinking it’s time to move to Buffalo….

bradlm 2004-09-09 12:53 PM

Now I'm starting to think twice about moving to FLA|couch|

Buck Angel 2004-09-09 01:28 PM

Damn I can't believe this! I hope you are ok Cleo..if you need to get out come over to my place here in NOLA I have an extra room for you with internet for you as well....though it could maybe come this way as well.
I am going to cancel my shoot with FoxyAngel. Don't think this is the time to do it!!

Buck

Cleo 2004-09-09 01:37 PM

Don't cancel, think of the possibilities, screwing on the beach in the middle of a category 5 hurricane! Now that would really be unique content.

bradlm 2004-09-09 02:39 PM

Tart 2004-09-10 01:14 PM

Stay safe and stock up on everything Cleo.. we're further up the coast in Brevard and it's just chaos with most of the traffic lights out and power off all over.

I still have my desktop packed in a tub from evacuation with frances and think I'll keep using the laptop until Ivan goes away :(
