IDEA For GG&J : Auction Extension
 

. . . not an auction forum, but an actual auction site. Just like we click on resources, greenyguy stats, contests, etc. It would be cool to have a nifty "Live Auctions" button, leading to an ebay style auction script.

Reason I mention this is my almost-wife does quite well on ebay, ebid, and others. And rarely a day goes by without me buying content, traffic, domains, traffic, did I mention traffic and selling domains.

I think it would be cool to have greenguy and jim live auctions. Should make some nice coin for gg&j too!.

Thoughts?

I have seen a lot of adult auction sites not really do anything. But, I am looking at auction scripts as we speak :)

Thanks, Jim! :) I for one would really find it useful. I prefer buying from folks I know and it would even be an extra revenue source for us all. If anyone can make it work, you guys can.

Are you folks still considering this idea?

Here are some benefits:

1) May cut back on spam, since there will be a defined place for it.
2) Attract further webmasters to gg&j.
3) A very useful too for those of us in adult webmaster services (cotent providers, hosts, designers, tgp sites selling spots, etc etc)
4) A tool for those of us who rely on the above services. When I next want a site designed I could ask designers to bid. As things progress I'll also be able to read user-reviews on these designers and see their ratings to make a more informed decision.
5) May actually promote a more honest and safe environment for us to buy and sell.
6) Would be fairly unique I think in the industry since its aimed soled at adult webmasters.
7) Will create a new revenue stream for both gg&j as well as everyone who uses it. I'll be buying content, tgp spots, domains and commissioning designs. I'll be selling domains names.

What does everyone else think? :)

an edit : One final reason why this is a good idea. I personally cant do business without spending money. The old saying - it costs money to make money. It would be great to have a well-regulated "adult webmaster" environment in which to make safe, sometimes discounted purchases.

I have been looking at scripts and even talked to a couple of people that have written these scripts. But, I'm not sure what we are going to do yet.

adult auctions are hard to come by..ebay ebanned and naughtybids are about it.
And ebanned sucks pretty much unless you want panties haha.
I get tired of looking at auction sites with nothing on them.

That's good enough for me, dude. It's only an idea anyway. If I were you though I wouldnt go to the expense of getting it scripted from the ground up. If you do green light it, i'd just get something out of the box, then get a designer to integrate it with your current design. The script doesn't need to be flashy; the general usefulness of being able to buy and sell will outweigh any additional bells and whistles.

The people I have been talking to sell auction scripts. I would never try to reinvent the wheel.
