ICQ down?
 

Had some weird stuff happening on ICQ this week.

Now I have no contacts displayed at all.

Can't seem to add users either. Anyone else got problems?

ICQ is buggy and does annoying things, at least the Mac version is.

Works fine here...

I don't think I've seen the problem on the new version, but I do remember an older version showing me logged in, but no one on my list was online, which can only mean that I am the only person left alive in the world or ICQ was fucked :D

I think I did the old uninstall/reinstall.

One of the really annoying things about the Mac version is it will go offline without letting you know that it has gone offline.

The good thing about the Mac version is that it doesn't have any ads or anything like that.

I really do wish they would update it. It has been a few years since it was updated.

According to another board... I ain't the only one who has this problem this morning.

Mine tends to lose contact and re-establish contact several times a day. I don't know if it is ICQ itself, or my ISP. It's only troublesome when I'm actually conversing with someone. It's a quick process, but it is annoying when you don't get the other person's last reply.

He is on ICQ and we are trying to figure out his problem. He would like you to msg him. ;)

yeah wtf I have no contact list either urb - maybe they want us to install the new version been getting a message to upgrade..

That is so strange. It connects to the server and then some kind of command back and then QUITS!

Yes I am. Glad to hear it is not just me. I was thinking my prefs had gotten corrupt or something and was getting to go get a backup from my FireWire drive.

Is this funny or not?

ICQ on the Winblows XP box authenticates but shows no one online. Same for the old, old hacked versions on both our NeXT & SGI boxes.

Is anyone running AIM? Try it and see if it works since ICQ & AIM use the same authenication servers but different boxes for the messaging progs.

Is CNN still on the air? It's all the same company.|greenguy|

Seems there maybe be some router issues with ICQ loosing messsages :(

same problem here and i know more, they all show ofline for me while they are in, realy a pain in the ass.

I use trillian with 2 icq accounts, 1 aim, 1 msn and 1 yahoo, and I have no connections issues.

Urb - same problem here all day yesterday - had to shut down icq a few times and restart and finally held with contacts showing online - but had 12 hours where only the people that contacted me showing status
