heavily hotlinked....
 

Its no big deal, cause I can handle the extra traffic- even though its pretty heavy. And I know what to do about it- or rather -my host does.

Its more a matter of the fact that it f... stinks. As I see it- its something that you just dont do, but this guy seem to have made a bussines out of doing it. And in my case- its not just a few pictures- he somehow managed to snoop up A LOT of pictures on my domain- and is posting them on his site- with his banners hanging over them.

According to his site- he is following all the rules of search engine services- and is not breaking any law, etc. Is he right about that?

A search for my domain(neighbourhoodgirls) gives the surfer 289 pictures.

I guess its old news then. It just sux cause a year ago something like this would have costed me a fortune. And im sure a lot of unaware newbies is gonna end up paying. Ohh well- no use crying about it, if theres nothing to do against it.

I have noticed a massive increase in asian BBS sites that are hotlinking....its amazing cuz I set up one domain which allowed hotlinking so that I could let some mates who run tgps link some of my images, then all the sudden I notice my b/w goes up by like 10G a day and I check the logs and find about 20 different asian BBS places are all hotlinking my images too.

At least with my mates I was getting some good traffic in return...the asian traffic I got was absolute crap - zero sales for massive bandwidth usage.

And it really irks me too, I just hate freeloaders like that!

Anyway- maybe it was a good idea if we had some kind of "shared hotlinking assholes list"? That way we would have something to put on our .htaccess files before they get to cost us money.

Im not sure everyone could agree on what hotlinking actually is, but in cases like mysmutsearch- I dont think anyone would disagree that he belongs on such list.

Thats a great idea Tino, someone else said the same thing in another post.
