fine day indeed... I finally got me saved enough money to buy that new computer I've been wanting for some time now. Moving data from the old one as I write this :)

Not much to look at but still here is a picture of the tower I stuck my new monster machine into http://www.thermaltake.com/products/cases/5000d.htm

3.0GHz Pentium 4, 800MHz FSB
1GB Ram Dual Mode PC 3200 DDR Ram
2x120GB Seagate Barracuda S-ATA hard drives
GeForce FX5900 Ultra graphics... and a DVD burner.

All of a sudden everything run fast and smoothly |bananna| |bananna| |bananna| |bananna|

Nice looking case, lots of room, but it is going to be hell carrying it around with you not to mention you will need a really long extension cord. :D

I got to spend a few hours yesterday restoring mine from a backup after fucking Apple released an update that hosed lots of computers including mine. Apple has since pulled the update, oops. |angry|

Computers suck… |raygun|

Cleo...

Just remember to donate your 'old" G4 Mac to me when you upgrade to a G5

Sorry you are out of luck as it got sold within one day of me putting it up for sale, actually had people outbidding each other on it and got more then I was asking. I'm on a 17" PowerBook now. I am hearing rumors of a liquid cooled G5 PowerBook sometime late next you so maybe then. :D

Right now I'm just happy to have stable computer again. After not having one crash in almost a year I got over a dozen kernel panics in one day after doing the 10.2.8 update, back to 10.2.6 now. Apple really fucked up major this time. Tomorrow should be a real money maker for me when all the design shops come back to work only to find their systems hosed. Wait that is a good thing for me, lol.

Yes, we have a G4 here and for once I did not upgrade the OS the first minute it came out. From now on I will always wait a few days.

Yeah they pulled a few hours after I let it do an update, but I always do updates as soon as they come out since I do Mac support. This way I know what if any problems my clients will see. I do always use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my drive to a FireWire drive first so that I can go back in case something like this happens.

There is a thread about it over on Slashdot this morning,
http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/03/0...id=187&tid=190

This has to be an all time fuckup for Apple.

Actually I think all computer companies suck, it's just a matter of using what sucks the least.
