The New ARS version 6 - something to keep an eye on.
 

Well, since I still dearly miss the old ARS, which was a great fucking sponsor in my opinion, I'm going to have to do some testing with the New ARS Version 6.

I wasn't too thrilled with this past years ARS stuff, 4real and so forth.

the old ARS would be great to have back... but... with them moving so much stuff around does this mean changing out every ARS link again? or are the linking codes gonna stay the same and they are just adding more stuff to promote?

Really looking forward to that one....

Supposedly they are going to take all legacy traffic and send it to the closest niche of the new sites.

Some fairly big changes to the rewards store too - they have ended the gift card option and cancelled gift card orders. But they say they'll be back to redeeming points for merchandise almost immediately.

hmmmm..... i'm getting deja vu LOL... i guess maybe the last reinvention didn't go so well for ARS... or maybe they are just branching out to meet the needs of their webmasters... either way it should be an improvement...

Anyone know if they are bringing free or $1 trails back (besides HSN)?

Well, here's the latest bizarre thing:

They've jettisoned Champs and Option Mind... and now GIM have announced they're taking over Option Mind and GIM.

This is the same GIM who ARS said responsible for bad retention, and then not long afterwards they were hired back to run the movie matrix sites.

ARS makes me into a masochist. I don't know why I've kept coming back for more. I feel like putting a big sign on my head that says "ARS got me again" along with the "Kick Me" sign on my back.

Bill - I was one of the Wms that had gift cards ordered - quite a large amount actually - when they announced that our orders for gift cards were being dumped - which I had ordered for 4 months - I went ballistic - but then they offered to get our orders into the que right away since we had been waiting - Ive already recieved three of the items I ordered last Thursday - and the last two should be here this week based on tracking numbers - nice :)

I still have a major pile of points there myself, but I was waiting for their infamous 6-8 month backlog to clear before trying to redeem them.

They say points are carrying over and they will still have the points program at ten cents a point- so I figure eventually I'll redeem them.

I have to admit I liked the gift card option, but better merchandise than nothing.

It will take a long while before I would trust ARS the way I used to, but I'd rather see them succeed than disappear.

Can that, I will never trust ARS the way I used too. The days of trusting sponsors are over.
