the more free content the more sales?

Some say the more free content you give the more sales you make but others tell me giving too much free content have a negative impact on conv. ratios.

What do you think? Does it depend on your target? your media? the content in question?

Just trying to build appropriate mkg tools... :)

IMO text is what sells. You can have 15 thumbs as long as they match your sales pitch and the sales pitch matches the site; you will do well. :)

There is nothing you can do to sell moochers unfortunately. |sad|

There's a lot of pros & cons - off the top of my head:

Pro: more content means more webmasters promoting the sites
Con: more webmasters promoting the sites can lead to the webmasters not getting listed because of overused content

Pro: it's easier to sell the surfer on the site if you're using hte content from the site
Con: surfers might see the content so much that they think they don't need to join the site

Somewhere inbetween both of those is a happy middle ground :D

Yes, that's the point: how to get the right balance between not enough & too much... I guess I'll propose our affiliates 2 gallerie templates & let my them choose what's the best for them...

I think everything has to be managed

Be careful with templates - if too may tgp's & Link Lists see the same templates over & over, they tend to decline those submits.

Good answer.

Some say exclusive is the only way to go, then put the contnet on FHGs and kill it.

How about paying webmasters on two levels, one who go and buy content and a lower one for those who want it for free?

One of the problems with free content being given out is that if you have 1,000 webmasters thats a lot of exposure to the sets you have, unless you are buying 10 a day.

Thx for the advise, GreenGuy!

That's a wicked saying, I must remember that.

Well, Paul, I would not feel comfortable paying wbs on 2 levels but you are right, giving content for free kind of "burns" it... diversification is really a key, I guess..

That covers TGP owners - now how about people that build galleries & submit them by hand? Link List owners? Free Site builders?

You are right, having a two tier system would be hard.

But from what I can make out those buying content are doing better than those getting the free stuff, on average.

Another thing that comes up is the type of paysite. Exclusive Amateur and Reality sites have a problem with providing enough content. They can only produce so much. and it is difficult to promote those sites without using the actual content. And then you have 1000s of WMs trying to submit it.

Would it work to buy content that is similar and use the right words?
