GloBill Final Settlement

I just got an email (actually 3 emails for some reason) from GloBill.

To sum it up, you have one of 3 options:
1) You can get a Guaranteed 10% of the total owed to you.
OR
2) The possibility of 110% of the money owed to you based on pending litigation
OR
3) Decline these options and pursue the money you are owed, on your own.

Not very good options. But options, none-the-less.
I'm glad I have very little money owed to me.

Thanks DrB

Not exactly good options are they.. |sad|

DrB
That some real |bullshit| |pissed|

Cleo 2003-10-01 06:23 PM

That sucks. :(

I would grab the 10% and move on.

Dr Bizzaro 2003-10-01 06:29 PM

Also, a few weeks back when Globill sent out some sort of "we're getting around to a settlement package" email. When they did, they also mistakenly emailed out one of their email lists, (oops) and a little back and forth between webmasters ensued.

An Anti-GloBill chat room was established for people who wanted to band together to do something or to atleast talk about it.

If you were not part of the email list and didn't get it, or ignored the emails, here is the link to the chatroom:

Take the 10% and head for Taco Bell Dr. B you know how these things turn out.

I thought about using them as a backup processor. Glad I didn't. Of course, I chose ACPay as a backup and they went out too...but they are at least still paying on rebills and have offered to transfer accounts to other processors.

That's a shitty range of options :( but 10% is marginally better than nothing.

What's the old saying about a bird in the hand being worth two in the bush?

I'd rather stick something else in their bush |bigfuckin |thumb |pink |pink

Dr Bizzaro 2003-10-02 10:40 AM

Well, I just read, printed, signed and mailed my documents in.....

110%! All the way.

SirMoby 2003-10-02 02:41 PM

What the options really mean

1) Only 10% better then nothing

2) All your money, 100% satisfaction and you're only risking 10% better then nothing

3) Why?

Go get 'em Dr. B!

DangerDave 2003-10-02 03:52 PM

DrB,

I will be doing the same.. it is already a write off here... so 1% would be a gain...

Depends on the $'s involved I would think. Waiting for a lawsuit to get settled could take 10 years or more. I am in a class action against Visa that was filed in 1996 and it just went to court this year. After appealls it could be 2010 before it's settled and this will probably be worth a few hundred to me and millions to the lawyers.

Small $'s take the money and run, big $'s probably worth the wait. Just my opinion.

Cleo 2003-10-02 04:08 PM

Lawsuits will drain the life out of you. In the end you will usually take anything just to be able to move ahead in your life.

I've been on both sides of lawsuits. They just suck the energy out of you. :(

I don't know how much money was involved, but it would have to be a whole shit load for me to even consider getting mixed up in one again. IN the end it is usually only the lawyers that end up with anything anyway.

I hate lawyers… |raygun|

DangerDave 2003-10-02 04:18 PM

As I said.. it is already a write off... I expect to get ZERO, and have already moved on...

They are going to court.. not me... I am getting back to work.. so any would $$ just be a surprise bonus in the future.

That's the same way I feel.
Plus, something has to be done about Visa pulling that shit with companies like that. GloBill can be one of many to come if something is not done.

Fight the power.
