Average Salary For Link List Reviewer?

On average, what do you consider a fair hourly salary for a link list reviewer? Let's pretend you wanted to hire a part-time reviewer to work 1-2 hours a day going through submissions... what should you pay them? :)

Greenguy 2004-10-27 05:04 PM

I'd say, but then people would know what I'm paying my slaves :D

Seriously, for a good reviewer that knows twhat the fuck they are doing & goes the extra mile, at least $20 an hour

It's so hard to find a reliable one it's worth asking for what people want and add some. Its hard to work out hourly though imho... some people can do 100 site reviews in a couple of hours... some people couldnt manage to do that many, properly, in a whole day.

I hate chasing people to be reliable daily too... so if they can manage their time and actually turn up everyday like a real job.. I'd double whatever rate they wanted. |santa|

Chances of whoever you are employing being a good reviewer are about 100:1 in my experience though, hardly anyone does it like the owner would :(

May I do a partial hijack here and ask, on average, how many hours a day do typical reviewers work?

Plus, do they get a turkey for the holidays?:D

I know that reviewing can suck ass and take a long time.. And it takes me 2 to 3 hours to do 40 subs - but check whois and surf to host on all new people, check links to hubs check ads for mouse over BS and more and do shit in between like change music check a sponsor for sign ups and do stuff I shouldnt - LOL

bad thing about having a smaller $$ LL Its hard to pay some one..

and will they do it like the owner would - I've seen a good amount of stuff on some big LL that shouldnt have been there and stuff that should..

Is this what you currently do?

Do you to typical free sites, tgp stuff too?

OK, Mr NDA. :)

Tommy 2004-10-28 11:38 AM

1 or 2 hours a day is bullshit

I think like greenie said 20 bucks an hour is very decent

your better off taking someone out of the real world, someone thats making donuts or cuting meat for 9 bucks an hour

and teaching them to do reviews

MML - I thought that is why you moved to Buffalo. Greenguy wanted his cars polished and his pool cleaned.

It's interesting you guys pay on time.

I was involved with another business that involved reviewing a lot of survey reports.

Checking for grammar, and checking the 30-50 questions answered to see if there were any discrepancies between what they clicked off and what they wrote in their free style essay portion.

They are known as 'reviewers' as well, and I did a few myself.

Anyway, within that industry reviewers are paid per review...usually $2-$3 with various incentives per month.

Naturally, the reviewer wants to do as many reviews as possible, but if quality slips they will be assigned less reviews to do.

Since some people can do different amounts of reviews than others, having an hourly rate wouldn't make sense.

Sometimes reviews are quite easy if the submissions are good and you can blaze though dozens in an hour.

If there are problems you'd put it into a 'hold' status for the company owner to look at and move on.

Yeah- I know I'm too verbose. Deal with it.

I'm just surprised it's hourly and not per review.

Verbal 2004-10-28 01:50 PM

Alphawolf, that is an interesting idea to payout per site review instead of hourly.. $2/site might be reasonable. It would certainly encourage them to review more sites and they'd get paid for work completed not time (they could be really slow).

Crunching some test numbers, lets do some math! :D
Let's say:
- Reviewer spends ~ 2 minutes average per site review (sometime more sometime less)
- So reviewer can get through 30 Sites/Hour
- You get around 60 submissions per Day
- This will take about 2 hours per day to do all reviews
(Am I way off here? .... lol)

The Various Payout Models For This Amount of Work:

60 Sites @ $20 Per Hour:
$20/Hour x 2 Hours = $40/Day (Reviewer Makes $20/Hour)

60 Sites @ $2 Per Site:
60 Sites/Day x $2/Site = $120/Day (Reviewer Makes $60/Hour!)

60 Sites @ $1 Per Site:
60 Sites/Day x $1/Site = $60/Day (Reviewer Makes $30/Hour) <- Best Deal For Everyone?
