Had a visit from an old canvasser today
This really made my day, so I may aswell post it.
Some of you know I used to run a double-glazing firm. Was given to me by the fam. I later sold it. Got into porn soon after. Some fam members still not talking to me. :) Long story.
Anyway, young guy called James paid me a visit today out of the blue. I think he's 23 now. Few years back I gave him a job as my driver. I'd lost my licence (wont get into why). He had no qualifications and was shy as hell. When he saw what the canvassers were making he asked if he could try and do that when I got my licence back.
Well, cut a long story short, I spent about 2 hours a day taking him on doors. Showing him the lyrics. How to create interest in the lead, how to close and consolidate.
I never got to make him a canvasser before I sold up. He came to me today though to thank me for showing him a way of making money.
He's got a fiance, a baby on the way in february, and he's making £1200 a week as a manager at cold seal. Told me it was pretty much down to me and he just wanted to say thank you.
I was fucking blown away. We had lunch anyway. Good chat. He went on his way. Kinda makes me miss some of the old times, but a great surprise nonetheless.
There are some nice people in the world. :)
