Sponsor Tryouts Coming Back To Life

That's right...after months of inactivity, our Sponsor Tryouts is coming back to life. When you get a chance, go take a look.

This will be for both Webmasters and Sponsors.

Jim

Am I understanding correctly when I assume by asking sponsors to contact you if they want to be involved, that they would be AWARE you are testing them?

wouldn't the results be more relevant to other webmasters if the trials were done without sponsors having prior knowledge?

imho when a sponsor knows they are being tested and the results are to be posted on a forum such as this, they'll be more likely to give presidence to the account in question.
*dunno* just my 2 cents :)

Most sponsors are going to know anyway. But, just to make things a little more interesting, I will be using my housekeepers name randomly :)

I guess it is just like riding a bicycle. ;)

Greenguy 2003-10-08 01:58 PM

The only problem is that Jim's bicycle is actually a tricycle :D

Oh so confident, times have changed Big Jim, Times have changed and the new young guns are going to be looking at the Master VERY carefully :)

JK, I think this is an awesome idea, what a way to give some new people and some current people in the business a chance to see some of the results of this tryout.

so does that mean when you apply to have your sites listed with other webmasters you are going to do this as a "blind" not as "jim" from gg&J?

Just because of the legend that you are, webmasters would tend, i think, to give your submissions better spots on their LL or TGP (whatever you are doing) which means the results could be weighted. Better chance of a CTR just by virtue of your location on the list. Whereas if you submitted as SexxxySofia the Upstairs Wench.. you might get listed 4 days after you submit 3/4 of the way to the bottom of the page.. if at all.

I think it's an awesome idea, and can be very beneficial especially to newbies.

and don't forget your MO codes.. otherwise you'll hit Cleo's reject pile.

...oh yeah and make sure you can find a way to make a rectangular picture fit decently into an 88x88 thumb without having squished boobies.

Jim

I think you have wayyyy tooo much time on your hands. |potleaf| |rasta| |boobies| |ohhhhh| |escape|

Jim 2003-10-09 08:23 AM

Surfn
I have no time on my hands...I just know this has to be done so I am going to do it.

docholly
It is going to be 1/2 and 1/2. This way we will see what to expect to be a newbie where nobody knows your name. And, what to expect from being someone around for sometime known as an honest webmaster.

And for the naysayers...I started building free sites in 95, I used the very first TGP and...I did this up until we opened GreenguyandJim. When I was with CE and Flashcash, I submitted everyday to see what worked and what didn't. That was the only way I could effectively do my job.

Cleo 2003-10-09 08:35 AM

After GG's tricycle remark and remembering that picof you in clown markup I've got this image of you riding around in an adult 3 ring circus. :D
