I hope everyone is doing well. I'm a little under the weather but fine for the moment.

I've gone completely wireless making my office paperless and cabless lol

I'm never really sure if I'm awake yet or just dreaming I'm awake.

Yesterday I was at Luna's place, we were eating chocolate covered bananas and smoking a little |potleaf| when I got a phone call from one of my accounts that their DSL had stopped working. Ended up having to go there, took Luna with me, and spent over 3 hours on the phone with Earthlink tech support. Seems that Earhlink had changed how things had worked on their end and the modem needed to be upgraded before it will be able to connect again, but the modem needed to be connected to be able to have the upgrade installed. Talk about a catch 22, lol. Finally we go a hold of a level 2 tech that gave me the URL of someplace that the update could be downloaded while I used my cell phone as a modem. Fucking Earthlink, guess I shouldn't complain as I got to bill the client for 3 hours of sitting on the phone. :D

That’s pretty sad that they couldn’t use their system to notify users to update. Why would business simply leave their customers hanging? |pissed| That would have been enough to make me switch. :)

I’ve never been a fan of the cheap and formerly free IP’s. |sad|

Earthlink tech support is just plain sad, as is most phone tech support. They blamed it on Bellsouth since they basically lease their DSL from Bellsouth.

What really got me is that it took a bunch of phone calls, two trouble ticket numbers, and hours on the phone before I could talk to a tech that would give me the URL of someplace that I could download the file without going through the DSL modem which didn't work without the upgrade.

The tech was very impressed that my cell phone does 128k downloads. They basically told me that there was no sense in me trying to use my cell phone to download the file because cell phones can't do better then 14.4k downloads. They had never heard of GPRS cell service.
