Go outside and play in the snow

Jim 2004-12-31 11:20 AM

I would get a little muddy if I did that, Cleo. We have snow but it is about 40 degrees and going up.
American Casino for a little while and then on to Jonny Quest

Damn, I still use a bank of video recorders, does that make me a dinosaur? And if so what about the Super 8 cine projector that is sitting on top of them?

No, it makes you elite (not to be confused with L33t). Super 8 rokked, btw. I shot a stop action movie using Super8 film in my AP English class in HighSchool back in 1979. It was killer. :D

I still use super 8 cine.

I remember way back in the 1970's when I got my first projector and camera my father trying to talk me into the (then) new system called "home video". I said that video was just a fad, it would not last, people would not want to pay to rent or buy videos to watch movies on TV when the TV companies broadcast programs for free, but cine would last forever !

As you can imagine that came back to bite me on the bum as video went from strength to strength and super 8 got less and less popular. However I was obviously a genius, because video is now dead, film companies are stopping putting out films on video, and only releasing them on DVD. But there are still companies that make films on super 8 cine for the home market (such as Derran). So quarter of a century later I am proved right, super 8 cine has outlived video.

Hmm, perhaps I should set up my own fortune telling business.
