I almost hit this

My useless post for the day

Okay GG, it is not what you mignt think but it is not a joke either.

I live so far in the woods that I have to drive about 3 miles to my mail box. So just a while ago, I am going up my drive and spot something like this standing in the middle of the drive. The SOB will not move and I'm wondering how am I going to get around him - damn sure not getting out of the car. Now, the dogs normally will follow me up the road. So as I am nugging up toward this thing, the dogs run to him. Bet they learned a good lesson. He tore the dogs up with the hits he got on them with his tuss. The road was cleared and I continued to the mail box.

He stood about 30 inches or so and probably weighted about 300 lbs. Bad ass creature.

They are not to be messed with animals that's for sure! We have quite a few in my county.. a few friends go bow hunting for them. Definately not up my alley, although I've never turned down any of the meat they bring over afterwards :) Sure hope the dogs didn't get hurt.

I guess depending on your outlook in life that would either be food, a pet, a sexual partner, or all three in one.

Many many years ago I grew a crop on forest land, I spent a couple weeks in the woods scouting out locations. In the middle of one night I woke up to a heard of Razor Backs rooting for grubs a couple hundred feet from me. I was sleeping under a tree that had a couple of low hanging limbs that were canopy enough to keep the dew off me. That's the night that I learned there is no fast way to get out of a mummy bag. I got out of the bag and grabbed my boots and cloths and was trying to get some distance between the pigs and me, one of the big sows spotted me, let out a squeal and charged, I dropped everything and started climbing the tree I had been sleeping under, the friggin pig charged shook the tree, then her buddies joined in and fucked with me for a couple hours, they took turns slamming into the tree, using the tree and branches as scratching posts, squealing and digging around the tree.
I had visions that night of dieing in my underwear.

Pat,

Wild hogs are omnivorous. Their most important food source in the spring and summer is grass. You had those sows stoned. |jester|

BTW, check out my new location under my new avatar.

Yeah, he could be Bubba Bovina's cousin. Linkster might know for sure.

BTW, the dog in my avatar is Bubba's coon dog. When I told him that Gabbo had been spotted over on the river, Bubba let me borrow his dog to do some tracking. He felled to tell me that it was the worst ever hunting dog.

I know it's just to the mailbox -
But if you don't have a gun (unloaded - in the case) in your truck around here, you're simply asking for trouble.
Not saying I'm crazy nuts "though wife would disagree".
But up here, this would have taken about 10 seconds to end, and we'll have bacon for a few months.

And if you happen to be travelling through SD - a few pheasants along the way are always welcome :)
