Bookmarks according to Sextracker
 

How many bookmarkers do I really have ?

If I check my stats at Sextracker.com I see that I have a few hundred visitors coming from a bookmark.
I also see a few hundred blocked referrers mentionned.
But,
how many bookmark referrers do I really have ?

Is Sextracker correct in their stats according to the bookmarks or is a portion of this amount coming from somewhere else ?

Is there any way I can monitor the number of people bookmarking my site ?

Bookmarkers is hard to really nail down accurately. Check your server stats too and maybe get another counter on there too like sexcounter (I think it is and it's not visable).

if you have cpanel on your sites, try getting AWStats, great stats program, and near the bottom of the front page it shows you "estimated # added to favorites" i have no clue how they get this number, but it seems somewhat accurate, usually mine is around 2% of people bookmark my site.

why dont you just write on the top of your site

that you are trying to determine how many bookmarkers you have

That'll be a beauty if people would still reply to that (they did pre 2000) - but I have my doubts in nower days with so much spam - people don't want to give out their email address anymore.

But the idea is not bad! If you have a stable and interested group of return visitors you could put a poll on your main page asking this... There are plenty of free poll scripts around.

edit: I'm asking myself the same question over and over, particularly with my TGP galleries, which according to sextracker get anything from 1,000 to 4,000 bookmark hits a day!?!?
Now: I don't have a directory (naming) structure where you can jump easily from day to day for more free galleries (I'd guess 90% of these would be 404s)... So why would over 1,000 people/day bookmark a single gallery?
Just that I couldn't add a poll to each and every gallery... :(

if someone came up with a GOOD stats program geared towards the adult industry I bet they could make millions

A lot of counters will default to "bookmark" if they can't extract a reffering URL. With people surfing porn with JS turned off and various security programs blocking reffering URLs you will get a lot of "bookmarks".

I was thinking about popping up a little window when someone clicks my bookmarklink.
In this little window I put the bookmarkscript together with a counter.
This could give me an overview of the number of people clicking this link.
