Freak Weather

  • Tsunami in Asia
  • Mud slides in California
  • 90mph winds and flooding in Scotland
  • Heavy Arizona snow
  • Ohio River floods

Does this remind you of a movie by Roland Emmerich?

That's normal for this time of year here :)

Although i did think the roof was about to blow off and i swear the couch moved because of the wind...

I do worry about the fact that I live on a giant sand bar and that I'm only 16 feet above sea level. I'm actually on a unusually high mound of earth for where I live that once upon a time was a coral ridge. Guess that is why the development that I live in is called the Coral Ridge addition.

It is another hot day where I live today. Usually I have my windows open all winter but this year I've ran the A/C almost ever day.

Last year at this time we had over 100 inches of snow. I think so far this year we have had less than 20. But, we do have years with both a lot of snow and years with almost none. I think that is just life in central New York.

codemonkey 2005-01-12 09:39 AM

It's freezing here we don't have central heating just some oil filled radiators - this place being an old mill get's draughty this time of year luckily i'm using the laptop on my lapotherwise i'd be freezing my nuts off!

Heading into about 4 or 5 days of wicked cold temps.
Highs expected to be -10F. Yes folks, that's the HIGH temps, lows around -30F with wind chills.... well you don't want to know.

Off to get groceries and gas for the truck to last through the weekend.

And even with all this going on, still planning on heading to the cabin for the long weekend. :)

Talk about freaky weather. It actually snowed in vegas the last day I was there. They're used to it in the mountains, but not on the strip. It was freaky, but cool. All those neon lights covered in snow...

|bananna| The Sun is shinning in San Diego, we've allready passed our yearly norm for rain and the rainy season just started.

3 kids died in Tijuana (houses coverd by mud slides) in the last two days

I predicted the mudslides last Saturday in this chat forum

Nothing New California = Fires in the summer, Mud Slides in the winter and earthquacks all year long

Yee Haa! We haven't even recovered from the last hurricane, still 100,000 without electricity and far from all roads are cleared. A second one is one the way. It's already hurricane strength winds further up north on the west coast |hurricane

don't forget this:

Iceberg on glacier collision course

The world's biggest iceberg is about to hit the frozen remnants of an Antarctic glacier, with a Nasa website predicting the clash in the next three days. ...

Those winds made themselves known here in London too! We don't live that far from the Thames and boy was the wind coming off the river!

Well, just as the violence escalated in Iraq during the approach to the elections, I would assume that the planet would become more angry as we come up on Bush's re-inauguration.

Did someone say armageddon?

Personally I'm really looking forward to having ocean front property without all the hassles of actually having to move.

Now all we need is for all those Deep Impact scientists to have made a HUGE blunder and for that thing when it hits that Comet in July to cause it to change course and head right for us...

The apocolypse is getting closer *Shrugs* According to the Mayan's we've all only got, what, seven years left. Charming thought, no?
