Similar Listings on Google

I just noticed something strange during a search for one of my keyword phrases on Google. When I search on 'big cocks', my site doesn't show up in the first 900 listings... On the ninth page Google has a link that says something like: "We have restricted the listings to eliminate sites that are similar in content. For a complete listing, click here" When I do, my site show up in position 40. If anyone has any ideas why this happens, I really would appreciate hearing from you.. Thanks!

Thanks Rocco and FTS...I'll check it out! I really appreciate the help, and I hope this hasn't happened to my sites, but I have lost MANY high Google rankings in the past few months |sad|

Hey Rocco - I'll take you up on that |shake|

I tried changing the user agent in Firefox, and was described on the link you referenced, but was unable to figure it out. If you could give me some more detailed info, that would be great!

By the way, I have no idea what a user agent is, and how it can be used to find sites that might have copied mine...

ok, did you do everything explained here: http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2004/04/2...useragent.html ?

and can you show me/us some site that may have violated your copyrights so I can check as well?

Pusher 2005-01-13 12:49 PM

Rocco,

I got as far as changing the user agent string to +http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html - but I don't know what to do to next...

There is an extension for firefox for switching your user agent, it's a bit easier than mucking around in about:config.
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/

You can also switch off javascript to get around simple js redirects.

ok, so now you can copy the url of the site you think is violating the copyright of your site into the firefox browser...

if there is a difference between the sites you can see in ms explorer and firefox it's beeing cloaked.

if you can provide me some samples I'll be able to check some as well ;)
